And in relation to the above remark regarding 2 months of continuous this is actually incorrect, thebest lighting method for clones is the gaslight method 12 hours light 5.5 dark 1 hour light and 5.5 hours dark.

Actually matey your exactly right.......though it depends on what type of bulb your using, something that people don't tell you is there are several different types of mh bulbs, but to lower it down there are o type and s type, basically o type are open rated meaning you can use without a shield...

Quick addition: if using mh or hps on younger plants or early clones you MUST keep the light at least 36 inches then lower as plant mature or you will light poison your plant, this generally applies to mh bulbs unless using a closed end reflector and this is due to the uv output of the mh bulb...
