the free market has a solution, like always. dish out the extra bucks to fly privately. or drive.

Like most low level government jobs, it's a way to get more minorities into the middle class. Knoxville TN is less than 15% black, well over half of our airports tsa agents are black. Those aren't bad jobs. Good benefits and about $12-15 an hour.

They didn't have metal detectors until 1972. Not until 1988 did they screen all the baggage.

Ive had to interact with state government a lot for one of my old jobs. Seems like an inordinate number of low level workers are minorities. I just speculate as to why.
