Plants are getting huge, what to do?

So I can literally cut the plant in half from the stem without any problems? I was under the impression the NL seeds I bought were predominantly indica so I didn't think height was going to be too much of an issue. I used regular seeds and only had 4 plants, so I vegged as long as I could to ensure I got a decent yield in the event only 1 of the plants turned out to be female.

Sorry I didn't get back to your post until today. Yes, you can cut that plant in half (literally). If you did that, the lower portion of your plant will go wild in growth and bud development. I know, I've done it! I had the same problem with a Sativa that grew wild on me. I got pissed and almost threw the plant away because she was stretching out of control, but changed my mind and just cut the fucker in half. This finished product was so good, I have yet to repeat that result, until now; the plant I'm cutting down Saturday has the same look and density as the girl I hacked last year. (1st picture is my current plant. 2nd pic is the girl I cut in half. 3rd pic are the buds from the plant I almost threw in the dumpster.)

Simple sir....

Bend them over and tie them down with a thin rope. Just put the rope under each bucket to hold then down and done. Then you could move the light down and get on top of the canopy again. 2 months is way to long to do that for a tent. Rule of thumb goes like this?

2 times stretch(most strains)


So if your plant is 20 inches tall double it for finish.

Thanks for the great info dude! I decided to chop my NL plant yesterday and it's now down to a manageable 4.5-5ft. Did you notice a decrease in yield when you chopped your plant? The buds still look super lush.

My plants are now 3 weeks into flowering.

Yield will depend on your plant (Genetics), when you cut it in half, and what stage of flowering you are in. The sooner you cut, the better, BUT, I did do one thing different than you did; I hacked my lower fan leaves and branches, leaving only the upper portion of the plant for the transition. Like I said, she was going into the dumpster until the last minute, when I changed my mind and just cut away.

From what I can see in your pictures, you didn't do that, leaving the lower portion of your plant wide open to new growth and bud development. Trust me, FA, you are about to have fun with your plants. Don't even act like you chopped them and keep going forward as if you did nothing.

Also, looking at your pictures, your buds have just started so you have lots of time left.
