Jacks

thinking of trying the jacks classic. do you just use the 20-20-20 through the entire grow? or do you use the bloom booster as well? also theres a citrus formula for tropical plants that seems like it could work also. i know theres quiet a few people on here that use jacks so was just trying to get the general consensus on jacks.

I grow my plants in either Happy Frog or Ocean Forest and don't introduce any nutrients until the 5-6th week in veg. I've been using Jack's Classic Bloom booster on all my plants in 12/12 since June. Click on any of my signature links as all of them are grown with the Bloom booster.

With that said, I recently switched to the 20-20-20 Jacks just because growers I respect have told me it's a better choice than the bloom booster. It's too early to tell any difference in the plants though. I would say you can't go wrong with either. I feed 1/2 tspn per gallon on a daily basis.

I use Jacks Classic in Coco Coir.

No PH issues (I don't adjust PH) No PPM issues that I know of (I don't read or measure PPM)

I water everyday unless I'm busy and forget then I just water them the next day. I do not water unless they are going to have at least 8 hours of light at the time of feeding, which means water them early or I don't water them at all.

I overfeed with Jacks I'm sure (Use the entire scoop it comes with in 3L) and I have no nute burn or any issues that I know of.
You can take a look at my plants, the last pic I have posted is about 1 week into flowering, yes 1 week.
It was recommended to me by various users on these forums that are "Pro" growers, no someone who does a few plants at a time, someone who grows huge massive plants and could be considered a commercial grower.

Obviously it will vary from person to person, but I have had nothing but a great experience with Jacks so far.
I've been told to use 20-20-20 through out the entire grow, although I have been giving it a half dose 10-30-20 (Of full scoop) for every other waters WITH a full scoop of 20-20-20 and I still have not burned them. It's working out great for me. I had a close friend tell me my plants look well into week 3 or 4 of flowering and I'm only 2 weeks in now (No current pictures in my journal since I'm just now finishing my new setup for next year and haven't had time to update)

So yes you can use 20-20-20 the entire grow. Save $5 and get the Duo as it comes with both 20-20-20 & 10-30-20 in one package. I do recommend trying the Citrus bucket as well if you have the cash, as I have also read great things about using that as a blossom booster. Although I won't be using that till next year when I really start to grow again.

As you can see I'm over feeding by a ton (Compared to what was suggested for me on the bucket & by growers) and the only issue I have is a tiny bit of yellow tip which is considered extremely minor compared to what real nute burn is.

Only 2 weeks into Flower.

Nice grow......considering I'm using only a fraction of what you're feeding, you may want to cut back just a little.

I have been using Jack's Citrus FeEd start to finish for my last few crops.
Nothing else.
I grow in ProMixBX amended with perlite and vermiculite and a generous amount of dolomite lime.
I previously used the dynamic duo with nice results for years.

IMO, simple is better.

Yea I agree I do need to cut back, I've just been addicted to feeding her. I usually fill up a 1Gal jug with all the nutes and set a bubbler in it overnight and in the A.M I use half the jug and 6 hours through if I'm around I use the other half of the jug.

Before Xmas I'm going to be going back to half scoop so I can start using molasses and not get any rust spots.

I've only been growing autos lately. Happy Frog soil and Jack's classic 20-20-20. That's it. I usually wait until the 4th week or so then introduce the Jacks. Very small amount every watering which is every 4 or so days.

Never checked PH
Never flushed
Never have a problem

One table spoon is about 750 ppm per gallon.

I find most plants tolerate that quite well. I usually fert every other watering with no signs of nute burn. This is In Happy frog/perlite

Once a plant matures, it's really difficult to over-water, especially with smart-pots or 5 gal buckets with about 30 one-half inch holes drilled. I give 1/2 gal per adult plant....yep, there's a bunch of run-off, but I know my roots are in moist soil when I'm done. No nute burn, no deficiencies, no root-rot, no nutrient lock-out. You'll find your plants are very thirsty the last half of 12/12.

FWIW, with all of the Jack's products I have used over the years my doseage ranges from 1/4 tsp per gal (seedlings) up to 1 full teaspoon for mature plants outdoors. I feed with every watering.
