I am at the first stage of paranoid growing for the first time where I am like "Should I water, or should I not!!? Yea, the thing most newbs go through with their first grows lol. Just a simple question as to water, or not to water these little guys.

I put my finger in the soil that has been watered last and below the surface it feels....moist... but only that little bit that when you look at your finger you don't have wet dirt on it, you just kind of feel like its a little moist.

Help is appreciated!

Happy Smoking!

dunno but it sure is stretching get your light closer if you can. and pick up the cup and see how light it is if its not light your ok. you can usually go quiet a few days without watering.

It looks fine, do not water too much especially when it is a seedling, or else it can get a weak stem and collapse I learned that when I was new to growing. Just sit back relax and let the grass grow. Love is good, but over loving can kill. :-)

See that's what I needed! Moral support to tell me I am not killing them by not watering them! I'm just sittin there like... what if I didn't have water for a day??? :0

thank you for your reply, I'll see if I can get my LED closer, it was really strange the one that is stretched quite a bit did it with a CFL right over top of it. The other one now has the CFL over it and it is looking good. I could probably stand to drop the LED, I believe it is at about 10 or 11 inches from the soil.

i water with a spray bottle at this stage ;)
they need very little until they get a few sets of leaves then
water when the pot feels lite when you pick it up
that way it has a chance to dry up between waterings
and wont become stunted from too much water

shallow <~~~~~ thats the word i was looking for
if the pot gets soaked the top will dry up and bottom stay wet
after 5-6 nodes ill water until i get run off until then its just a coffee cup at most every couple of days

Tek! again with the good info!! I have a spray bottle I use to moisten my dart frogs' terrarium, so that should work perfect. How long have you been raising Autos Tek? Also, if you don't mind, how high is your LED from the soil as seedlings?

12-18 inches on the leds
flower they get moved in closer sometimes if the plant can handle it its different for every strain it seems like
my HPS is fixed at around 40 inches and i lst them to fit the hps space and move the leds up and down or around to plants that look in need of some extra light

if i piled all my auto grows up and put a number on it id say i have 2-3 years of only auto's but stretched out over 5-6 years i take breaks sometimes grew a lowryder when i was in highschool i was class of 2001 if that gives you any idea ;) i got like 5 grams off of it lol

and you dont measure from the soil its from the top of the plants

you have to factor in lenses and wattage of the diodes and type of diode
i could run them closer but my ufo's have IR and UV emitters that will torch my plants

3w led diodes and 90 and 120 lenses i think just to give you and idea of what im running
the blues will burn usually too if there to close
burn bleach same thing in my book

Okay awesome, thanks again Tek! I will have to actually lift the LED a little higher than. It is about 8 inches above the stretched stems leaves. Yea, sorry I had the LED set over the soil for when they popped, I just never moved it after they did pop haha. That is a pretty good growin career! I respect and appreciate the info you give Tek, thanks a lot. I plan to lst them a bit and see if I can get an even canopy without making them look really strange. The thing with cannabis is that I love the plant. I love the look of it and everything, I don't want to grow just for the bud, but the pretty plant too. Now don't get me wrong, I love bud and growing is a perfect way to get it, just saying the plants looks are important to me as well!

I agree with you I am all about the beauty and health of the plants, are you doing true living organic? That produces the most beautiful plants in my opinion.

Unfortunately I am not. I would love to, but I got some free samples from... ehh I can't remember lol, and I have some AN nutes. Jungle Juice to be exact. I got ahold of Peruvian Gold through email, but haven't heard back from them yet. I plan on doing some research on teas and organic lines to use in the future. Sadly, not for this grow though. I plan to be fully organic in the future though! Nothing better than nature at its finest. Damn, I love it. Ever since being a child I have loved nature and outdoors, so when I tried smoking for the first time, it felt a little right. I took a long break from smoking because I respected my parents, and just started again every once in awhile lately (Living in CO btw) and it feels even more right. now that I am on my own and paying bills and what not.

Right on man, hope you can get into living organics as you are damaging your bacteria by doing soup growing techniques even if they are organic. Soil web is everything when beauty and health are considered.

Yea, I have happy frog and see all the mycorrhizae in it and I am sure those Jutes probably hurt the good stuff in the soil. I will be waiting for about three weeks or a little more before my first feeding, but I would love living organic plants.

Hope it works out for you :-) Just so you know, high amounts of readily available phosphorus (like in bottled nutrients) will kill your mycorrhizae. So try to hold off as long as possible with that so that you can reap the benefits of the root fungus. Happy frog should contain enough nutrients for a couple of weeks anyway. Also, if you want to keep your plants strong and make sure they are using the food spraying them with Cal Carb from Xtreme gardening is cheap and a little goes a long way. It will also make them use more CO2 equaling higher yield/faster growth.

Sounds like you have a good starting plan, hope everything goes smoothly.

Awesome! Thank you so much, I am going to definitely do some research on that and take a look at my local hydro store to see if they have some!

No worries man, make sure you do, you will only have a short window of veg time with autoflowers so it's good to make the most of it. Is your plant in at least a three gallon pot? Most auto breeders say this optimum for them.

Yes sir, it is! They are both in 3 gallon pots from Home Depot. Seem to be of good quality. Yea, I have been watching them like a friggin hawk the last couple days, like I would see some sporadic growth lol.
