Cheap HPS Setup (4 plants)

What would be a good ballast for that bulb, i'm switching from cfl's to a 150w hps in a cool tube i think and trying to get a good idea on the cost of one for 120v Ac.

Any links/etc, walked around i lowes andcould never find them...

the 150's are fatter then the 400+. limits the cooling. a 500 cfm fan will flow about 150-250cfm

for a 150, go ultra cheap. you probably won't be keeping for more then a few grows.

Well considering bumping up to a 250w instead of the 150 to make it worthwhile to use for awhile! or really as long as i plan on growing for personal.

Any good places to buy with cash for cheap, Bulbs and ballasts, i'll figure up hood someway or either cool tube it.

HPS=More Efficient=More Bud=The Best light you can get. If you have the money get the hps and you will be very happy at the end

They do take money orders at htgsupply right? Gotta keep it off the cards. I'll probobly go with the 150w, as my space is about 2sq ft footprint. and the specs say good for 3'x3'.

home depot sells them,hardware stores,lowes..... prices vary on brands but you will find decent priced one im sure.:blsmoke:

They take money orders. And you get a bulb with it in the $70 deal. I just got the Budget 400w HPS($126 with tax), its the same thing as the $70 deal except 400w instead of 150w, I walked in to the store so I cant tell you what it costs with shipping. I was amazed they were real close to where I live. Its run by a bunch of young guys, pretty cool fellas.

yes your it does come with a bulb but he's gonna have to put a new one in in about 3-4 months if he wants to keep his lighting up to par.I wish i lived near them:mrgreen:

yeah, lowes and home depot have them for cheap. But i can assure you its worth paying extra for a bulb with the correct spectrums.

Wow that looks like a good deal, Id get the HTG Supply bulb though, its 55,000 lumen instead of the standard 50,000 for a 400w bulb. That is going to be heavy also I think, the ballast is right in with the light, so if you get it you better secure it well when you hang it.

I dont really see why you would need to do any wiring, it looks ready to go from the description, just hang it, plug it in and GROW!
