What is this? Has anyone seen this before in their own plants? View attachment 2926240View attachment 2926241
That is new growth... looks like you pinched it or topped it recently...What is this? Has anyone seen this before in their own plants? View attachment 2926240View attachment 2926241
Clearly no one in this thread knows what their talking about, apart from Sand and Ring. You don't have a P deficiency. You haven't over-nuted. Those guys have no idea what they are talking about. This is new growth. It's not deformed, or discolored, that's just how it looks. Do not flush your plant. Too much water will cause it problems, which makes no sense to do considering there's no reason to flush. wdk420 has no idea what the hell he is talking about, do not fuck up your plants by following his advice. So chill out, and wait a couple weeks until you do get a real problem. What is this? Has anyone seen this before in their own plants? View attachment 2926240View attachment 2926241

Glad to get feedback form someone with so much rep. Respect. Are you saying that new growth is commonly brown like this? I have never seen this in any of my other plants that I have grown which is why I ask. Thanks again.New growth
Thanks man appreciate your time. I haven't done anything drastic yet. I've been partial to keeping changes simple unless I start seeing necrosis or major chlorosis, even then if it's minor I'll monitor it for a few days, if it gets worse do a straight transplant into some fresh, pH'd soil (haven't tried hydro yet). Apparently, from what I've been able to gather, this isn't common. What Sand says rings true to me. Once in a while I will see a squirly phenotype that doesn't behave like the others. I pinched off a Trainwreck this last season and don't recall seeing that brown, but it is common for new growth after pinching to be a little odd, probably a change in hormone levels? I can't say for sure but I'd wait a few days to see how it progresses. I'm also in the camp of only flushing as a last resort.
Multiple people have already answered your question correctly. There is nothing wrong with your plant. That looks like normal new growth. This time of year you definitely do not want your plants outside, it's too cold, just bring them in.Thanks man appreciate your time. I haven't done anything drastic yet. I appreciate your response. I never said they were outside though. "Yes friend, brown chlorosis is common in new growth, I have seen this many times myself." Is that what you meant to say?Multiple people have already answered your question correctly. There is nothing wrong with your plant. That looks like normal new growth. If you want to see "Brown chlorsis" what ever that is, then by all means, you have a one of a kind super BC plant....I appreciate your response. I never said they were outside though. Okay buddy have a great day!Just another noob that should be sitting back, reading, watching, looking and learning.
Please do not give advice if you do not know how to recognize a normal growth or a potential problem.
In this case the "veteran" grower knew what was happening with this growth and gave the right answr.
You have to be able to learn before you can teach.
Peace
OK, now we're talkin'. I thought my color profile was off. I DO see brown in there and I cant think thats any good. New growth is a nice bright lime green. I've never seen the brown in there before, I'm a lost ball in tall weeds on this one. I've found several refernces to "brown" chlorosis, but all had to do with either iron def or lockout. Either way the leaves are light yellow interveinal, not brown, the veins are still green.Glad to get feedback form someone with so much rep. Respect.
