Thanks smoke. Yeah it's a real mess. Luckily my moms husband is a whiz with cars and can rebuild trannys ect. Really hoping for the 800 dollar fix lol.

Hi there, i'm at my first grow and its Hempy.Im growing two months now and plants look ok but i get confused about run off PH and EC.What is correct run off?

Coco/ perlite 50/50 , coco chips at bottom.
3 buckets. 3gal. 7gal and 9gal.
to me looks, the bigger the bucket = more problems...

For example
3gal IN ec1.4 ph5.5 OUT ec0.85 ph6.4
7,9gal IN ec1.6 ph5.4 OUT ec0.5 ph7

Ok big buckets are beds with more plants, they eat more.

Main problem is of course PH.No matter how low ph i put in or how much i flush it always stays high. Its because of bad media i think :(

Other question is how much EC should i see in run off? Today i started to flush. But with every gallon of ec1.4 solution i get only ec0.1 increase in run off.So to reach IN target from ec0.5 i would waste a lot of nutrients.Sgould i flush it with stronger solution like EC2.0?
Everyone complain about too high EC in runoff and no one complains about too low so i couldnt find an answer, sorry
thanks

Almost forgot i handwater them once everyday till 30% runoff.Water is RO.
Fresh coco i rinsed with RO and after soaked in ec0.4 phd solution but in the morning solution was like ph7...I though it will buffer but...

I have never actually checked my runoff since growing in Hempy's, and haven't had any real deficiencies in years, but I do make sure to use quality coco, and I water every day or every other day depending on the plants stage.

Hey everyone, its been a while since I contributed anything so I thought I would show my current grow and also my review on GNAT NIX.

This was 12 Days ago when I first moved them into flower.. I Fashioned a Single Screen over each bucket (except the smaller plant), Not to Scrog these girls but to keep a little more Space Control. My plants always tend to grow out sideways about 2-3 feet,, then up, so I decided to use the screen to force the plants to grow UP and now OUT. This saves me quite a bit of elbow space between plants.

These are the girls 11 Days later (yesterday). They are just starting to flower at this point, but all looking healthy and getting 900ppm (.5)

I just started using a product called Gnat Nix by Growstone, and I have to say, I am happy with it so far. Its basically just like Sand, but a little bigger, and really helps cover over any entry spots for Gnats. When I water, the medium does not soak into the Coco or Displace Badly, and if it does displace a little, its dry by the afternoon and is easily able to spread around and clean up. At this point, I have not seen any Gnats in the room, and I have been watering daily, which usually means plenty of Fungus Gnats. I had previously been using Perlite to cover the top of my buckets, and it does work, but the gnats do seem to be able to work their way in between the nooks and crannies of the perlite.

I hope everyone has an Enjoyable and SAFE Holiday Season!! Keep Growing!

I had gnats in every grow until I went with the straight perlite hempy. Actually, I had a fuck load of issues until I started this setup. I don't want to jinx myself but the only issue I had with this grow was that the plants stretched a little more than I expected. I'm about to start the flush. I'll be taking them down next Saturday.

Hey rusty...

I see you have the no pest strips...those didn't put a grip on ur gnat issue? I swear by those things

Its most popular answer about coco run off.But its not an answer in my opinion.I want to understand whats happening. Also seeing run off you can indicate how much you plants eats or seek salts builtup.

Yea I started in 100% Perlite, and the No Gnats thing was nice, but I am loving the Coco too much to go back ;-)

NICE Garden by the Way :weed:

The No Pest Strips work OK for Gnat Control, but with watering daily in Coco, it just doesn't really do the job totally,, For me anyway ,, But I do love them for Pest Control..

Hello, just wanted to ask, will i gain anything going from 3 to 5 gallon hempy buckets of coco/perlite 50/50 ?
I use 1 gallon for veg, then go big. Now i'm flowering plant in 3 gallon.Maybe i will get better answer when i finish it and will look at roots?

I red somethere that 1 gal of coco equals 2 gal of soil and 2 gallon of coco is plenty.
And maybe 3 gallon is really enough. This will let me to water more often.Roots will establish faster.
I grow SCROG one plant under 400w.
