Its available anywhere rectified spirits are sold..everclear is one as well...so if your state can carry everclear then they should also have, or atleast be allowed to carry it....but not many places carry either...

Thanks again for those links, made good use of them, well, one of them anyway. Fair price and very speedy shipping too! I have no complaints. Received my order today. I immediately put it in the freezer after taking a picture. Need to get those experiments started!

The 151 in the picture is what I use to clean my oil making tools and equipment. The 190 will be put to good use!

I would love to try 192 vodka you are using. How do I get in California?

I have to order the vodka online.....they sell everclear here in Wa but not the vodka

Cost me more to buy everclear in the liquor....than to order the vodka online

I would have ordered the polish 192 vodka but at the wine chateau it was more expensive. I have seen the 192 vodka cheaper at other stores but they won't ship to MI. If the everclear pleases me I will try the vodka and pay a little more. I wish I could get a liter of that organic grape alcohol, but the minimum is 1 gallon.

Okay boys, time to go vape and watch a movie!

Q: I know you can get everclear in my state but my local stores do not carry it. However I found Graves pure grain and another brand both are 190 proof... That will work right?

Google suggests that Graves 190 proof grain is equal to Everclear, or Clearsprings grain, sold at liquor stores, so yes.

everclear is just a brand name, any grain alcohol at 190 is good. i'll see if my local state store has the vodka.

Vodka is an interesting term...it can mean different things to different people. I make my 95.5%ABV as a neutral and consider it a vodka. The wash recipe is pure cane sugar with tomato paste as a yeast nutrient. -- I strive to drive ALL flavor out of my distillate (tomato paste flavors do not come through); This is important to me whether I am drinking it...or using it as a solvent. People can make Vodka out of variety of grains/potatoes...and even milk sugars (believe it or not). There is a trend to infuse various grain flavors into vodka, and it is worth noting that certain cultures that distill their vodkas take GREAT pride in their unique flavor. Again, this is not for me...I like my vodka flavorless...

One important thing to consider -- Some vodkas/grain alcohol distilleries will add various additives -- vegetable glycerin is an example and is used by some to impart a mouth feel for the consumer. You can well imagine what that would do if you choose to use this as a solvent...YOU would be delighted with the yield(imagine what 2 tablespoons of glycerin would do-- you get the point) you would be disappointing in the product.

A while ago, I emailed Luxco(maker of everclear) -- just to be certain that their product is a advertised -- nothing but grain alcohol -- they never responded. I doubt they add anything post distillation...I am sure people would be complaining if they did. Since I make my own, I lost interest in pursuing it.
