Watering during flowering

I am 2 weeks into flowering and my 2 girls are coming along great. My question is, is it okay to mist the plants leaves during flowering? I would like to mist them about 15 minutes before my HPS light turns off so as to not burn them. I didn't know if this could help or hurt the plants. Any ideas/suggestions?

Be very careful when misting with HID lamps on, they can explode with the slightest droplet of water. As for your question, foliar feeding is a worth while addition to any growers feeding regime but can cause burning where the intensity of the light boils the water on the leaf surface causing 'hot spots'.

You can mist during flowering,but be careful to do it seldom times because you don't want mold to set in the buds.Oh and use a fine misting bottle to do this only when your lights are on.

I'm not going to spray the flowers, I was planning on spraying the leaves. Now is it best to spray on or under the leaves or both?

In nature only the tops of leaves get the rain fall, so I would replicate that personally.

I was wondering if anyone's ever done an outside grow... when it rains out does it hit the tops of the leaves. I know that sounds stupid ... let me explain.

I've read to spray the underside of the leaves but kinda thought the same thing about replicating nature. So I was just out letting my dog out and it's raining out right now, I have a silver maple tree out front and was remembering how the leaves turn over before and durring the rain. (I think it might be a humidity thing that activates it) but I was just wanting to know if maybe MJ does the same thing or not.

I spray mine with water about ONCE or TWICE in flower. They get the freaking drenching treatment about week four of midflower, and only to knock the dust off. As for needing to spray, nope you dont. In fact, you are risking mold and other issues by misting them. Id reccomend to NOT BOTHER misting often, because its a risk that doesnt give you much if any gains....unless its to cleanse the plant matter. Yes, it rains outside, but I also think the lighting and breeze is a tad different. Just my observation. MJ leaves seem to change in anticipation of lighting, to perspire or conserve water, and i think the leaves are designed to give the plant a bigger "footprint", to help direct more water to the soil underneath and catch more energy (light). Not so sure they turn over to get the bottoms wet. Happy growing!

unless you are foliar feeding there are few reasons to mist plants, and almost all are temporary. If you have to lower temps fast, this is the way to do it (keeping in mind the dangers of water and hid bulbs). If you have to wash something off... It's not doing much for the plant, and it's certainly not a way to solve a humidity issue. In general (as mentioned, other than foliar feeding), it's far too dangerous for basically no benefit.

Many an outdoor plant in flower has been ruined by rain, so if you want to look to nature, it's telling you not to mist as well People who grow outdoors typically cover their plants in inclement weather.

I just have a quick question, without start a new thread on this. First time grower, I was wondering if the nutes application frequency should remain the same as during veg? I was feeding the ladies every third watering. Thanks a lot.
