Can reflected light from below help or damage leaf?

Hi All

I want to reflect light up from the base of the stem, but would like to get some feedback first.

Can reflected light from below, damage/burn the underside of the leaf? or will it help growth?

I know that the underside of the leaf is mostly where all the stomata are but the guard cells contain chloroplast, and by the inverse square law, the amount of light reflected off walls then reflected back up to the underside of the leaf surely couldnt damage it? if anything the relatively small amount of light through the canopy could only help :confused:

I was thinking about cutting Mylar circles with a hole in the middle and a slit to place on the pot at base of plant.

I thought I read somewhere a few years ago that light from underneath was not advisable/beneficial (side lighting ok)

Kinda cool watching leaves flip around....
Its not beneficial..the plant knows naturally to stretch towards light, also knows to grow opposite of gravity
The top of leaves are what's designed to photosynthesize and they will adjust themselves and find the highest light intensity

However with that said, I would find it hard to believe that amount of stress would be detrimental to that plant..I would put something reflective I've seen a simple piece of paper over your pots etc...I wouldn't put light as any effects wouldn't be desired imo........

My issues with this are by covering the top of your medium with something like Mylar (if using soil structured medium) then you get a stagnant pocket of air between soil and Mylar.

With the warmth and the moisture that will inevitably be there its gonna be a breeding ground for mould and fungus.

You'll get it.

If you get anything, get patience. If you learn only one thing, learn this. The chop, is just one of many milestones in the development of the plant. Naturally, instinctively, we think that when the plant is chopped, it's done as soon as it's dry enough to burn. Not so, You first plant the seed, then you get a sprout, then a couple nodes, then vegetation explodes. Then you flower and it stretches, develops hairs then the calyxes start taking over as the predominant feature. Hairs brown, buds fatten, smells fill the room and you think you are almost done. The plant looks ready, it isn't, just wait you have a couple weeks to go. Once the trichs are ripe, you can chop. But you're not done. You have only reached one of the middle steps in the process. You have to dry and cure now, think of the plant as though it's still alive, because parts of it are for a little while, changes are still taking place. Your plant is now getting stronger at a faster rate than at any time before it was cut down. The final step isn't the chop, or the trim, or the dry, it's the cure. It's everything.

leaves flip around ? what you smoken ? lots of google experts here... Really do half of you even grow or just like post so much you stopped thinking ?
YES light from any angle will help your plant, below, side , and of course from the top.

reflecting light from the bottom does not do anything for the plant.
There is really no need to bounce light off the floor and then back to the bottom of your plant.

Thanks for letting me know.. :p no but really cfls down at the bottom of your plant gives off light and helps your lower buds the light dose not just go up it also goes side ways and if you think that dose not help your wrong and I'm not your friend.

big but 56 Just odd that you seem to talk about shit you really don't know, other than following others post's or reading crap on google. I've grown for 10+ years and have tried lots of thing not listed on google so try it for yourself before you say someone with a hell of a lot more years of growing "I assume" is wrong just because you did not see it online.
