ok i just found this spot at my house. in the ceiling there is an entrance to the area between the ceiling and the roof. there is alot of insolation but i was thinking i could take most of it off and put down floor boards. once the insolation is removed there is atleast 4ft of hight. electricity shouldnt be a problem to wire. is this a possible grow room? if so what sugjestions do you have for lights, ventalation, strains ect. i included a quick sketch of the area.

hell yeah, just keep them low and either scrog or lst. go with maybe like a batwing reflector to take up least amount of space. good luck!!!!

Should just put boards overtop the insulation. If you take it out you'll lose insulation in your house so your cooling system will have to work harder to keep it just right and your power bill will go up. Even more so when you start running your 14 - 1000W lights 24 hours a day.

Save power where you can and use it for what you really want. BIG BUDS.

i think if i leave the insolation there wont be enough hight in the room for the plants to grow. there is more insolation under.

you can grow some monsters up there, you will become SOG master or LST ninja, either way please start a journal if you do, i love secret rooms, and hidden attics

In the end it's up to you.

I'm pretty new to all this. But I think Scorg would be a decent option for limited height.

Just a thought.

Your parents are going to kick your ass when they find out why their heating and cooling costs have suddenly risen. So, after they pay to have the A/C and heater system checked out and find nothing wrong, they think about it more. They start checking things and then they think of attic insulation...uh-oh. Now, you dont know they are doing this but it just so happens you are at work at the time the insulation guy comes to check it out, man just think what he is going to see. There are a few things that could happen at this point.

But unless you have a kickass way to keep those plants cool, you are going to cook them up there in 160 degrees.

LST is Low Stress training. As your plant grows you lean it the side so it grows big but not as tall overall.

SCrog is SCreen Of Green. You use a bit of wire mesh on a frame above your plants so that way they spread out left and right and not up. Works pretty well from what I've been seeing. I've read 100's of posts the last week or so.

If anyone see's anything wrong please correct me as I'm learning as well.

that's an attic crawl space, and i don't know where you live and what the weather's like but they can get pretty hot.

you'll need a killer ventilation system if you're planning on utilizing the whole area. the cutting a whole in the roof is a pretty sane option, only downside is that it would attract a bit of attention unless you disguise it as a chimney or something.

other option would be to run ventilation tubes all the way out of the attic then down to your house, this would cost you a fair bit and would be even more conspicuous.

cutting your roof open is the best option.
