nevermind, the air pump and air stones are not good enough in the ebay one.

JP

You say the pump and stones are not good enough in the oxy pot, yet i have seen numerous growers use them without any issues.

I always say build your own though. Just buy in bulk and prices will come down.

all i need now is 2 netpot lids and the Hydroton. i found better prices on the Hydroton and lids, just gotta order them. the air pumps were cheaper too because of price matching i got two for the price of one.

The netpot lids and hydroton are a complete waste of money and a pain in the ass. One small 2" netpot and a collar allow me to get 6+ oz plants.

collar, like on a shirt, or jacket. It's just a collar that goes around the stem holding it in place in the net pot. Imagine the insulation on hot water pipes in your home. I used hydrotron, but i also just drilled holes in the lid of the container i bought and stuck 2 inch net pots in there. Wprks just fine. The only reason for larger net pots is the added stability. But if your grow is not a portable affair, that can be seen as irrelevant.

Ive never grown without them. i dont have access to clones so i have to start with seeds. I need something to hold the starter plug. if you have a link to how to grow without them i would love to read it.

waterfarms are the best you can find them for around $50 bucks on-line they only hold 2 gallons of nutes so you save a gallon to a gallon of a half per week growing in them vs. a 5 gallon bucket. I have had some great dwc grows in lowes buckets but if you are willing to buy a bucket on line go with a waterfarm IMO. What you save in nutes over the life of the bucket can pay for itself

google neoprene collar... I would upload a pic but no internet access on pc. you carefully put your starter plug with seedling about 1-2 weeks from sprout in a 2" net pot and put the foam puck in the net pot on top of your plug around the stem of the plant. roots are immediately exposed to your dwc solution and blow up. when the plants get big you will have to support them with a scrog, tomato cage, wire, or some other training device.

at michaels they sell foam sheets in the kids section that work great as neoprene collars

also try insulating your dwc bucket with bubble wrap!!
