what about hempy bucket?
i havent grown with a hempy bucket before but i dont know that i would risk it. you def do not want to do a DWC or aero. the problem is that in something like a DWC the molasses will sit in the rez and eventually you will get root rot and kill your plants (trust me i learned that one the hard way:evil:) and of course it would clog up an aero system.

i dont know the scientific principle but just keep it away from any type of water based setup. to be on the safe side you would probably be best off just buying something along the lines of Botanicares Sweet line or some type of generic carb loader. pretty much all nute lines have something to boost the carbs in flower and help with resin production, and you wont have to worry about destroying your crop:peace:

any good pet store will have it,or maybe even the local garden center.

it is a by product left over from the extraction of sugar from sugar cane or beetroot.
this equates to it being pure plant energy in a bottle.
use it a 2 tablespoons per gallon.
I think if someone here was an entrepreneur and wanted to make millions they could use your line, 'pure plant energy in a bottle', and slap that on the label and flog it off through the hydro shops as a new supplement!

I keep my water in 2lt plastic milk bottles . How much molasses do i put in the water ?
By the way the stuff i got is organic blackstrap molasses (low fat)
Is this the right stuff and how much do i use ?
I don"t wanna damage my babes this is my first grow :?
about half a teaspoon will be fine ,to much wont hurt your plant any way.

dont put sugar in ur plant......... molasses is as far as I would go.... if u dont jump the harvest ur plant should have a good taste...
why not ?it was a common practice in the early 50/60s with the agricultural lot ,they spread it on the land before seeding to get the microbes working..
it cant hurt the plant

personal i would only use it in flowering and wait till your on week 3 of flowering for best effect as it instantly swells the bud and continues to full maturity if you do it this way

Nice, I was just gonna ask about brown sugar, cuz I have used it my last few waterings. Seems to be swelling my buds quite nicely, so I will stick to it. I use 2 tbsp per gallon. Thanks tho.

Should that be only used during flowering then?
yeah i usebrown sugar only during flowering. i tried it during veg and it diddnt make to much of a difference but it makes the buds swell quite noticably. also did a few batches now where i diddnt use it and the buds got nice but nowhere as bulky

Does anyone have any proof of this technique beyond anecdotes of "buds swelling" and the like.

If you want to increase the sugar content of your plants then pump up the CO2.

simplified photosynthesis equation:

6 H2O + 6 CO2 + light energy = C6H12O6 (ie. sugar) + 6 O2

Science, it's a wonderful thing!

so is nature.

but it is pretty hard to boost co2 when you grow outdoors,
plus the fact that most of the carbs in the ground have already been burnt of in the growing of the plant.
so the molasses is just an efficient way to boost the carb level at the very moment the plant needs it the most.:hump:

For the molasses users: When you flush the last 2 weeks before harvest, do you continue to use molasses or cut it out as well?

Thx:joint::peace:
