12 Reasons You May Never Want To Eat Turkey Again

There is no doubt that humans ate meat in history, however can anyone really stomach the idea of killing an animal and just eating it right there? Humans have taste buds that focus on a few things, like sweet, sour, bitter, but I don't think we can taste 'amino acids' like meat that real carnivores have, like a cat. Would anyone here eat just a raw animal? I'm sure some would as a bet but its pretty nasty.
People eat raw meat and eggs all of the time, I wouldn't but many people do.
Sushi anyone?

We've also had fire. Still need to cook a lot of vegetables to make them taste better and keep for long term. Wouldn't survive winter otherwise. All part of our evolution..

The overwhelming majority of human beings on this planet would have no problem selecting a chicken, goat, calf, fish, or even DOG, killing it, butchering it, and serving it up on a platter.

If you'd ever truly been hungry, you would know why.

I absolutely love me some meat.. burgers, bacon, filet, porterhouse, etc etc..
Saying that though, I'd have a really hard time having to kill my own and clean it, cook it then eat it..
I've said to 420 god before I'd have a hard time being a farmer for sure as I love animals, both as pets and food.. I have never been starving enough where I've had to go out and kill an animal in order to feed myself though.. thank god for butchers and grocery stores is what I'm saying..

This is exactly the way I am, Im not a hunter I dont want to stare down a barrel and look in the eyes of bambi when I can go to the store to buy my food.
I don't judge or look down on people who hunt or butcher their own animals, the killing and butchering just isn't for me.

I'm the same exact way..
I've been watching this show, Alaska, the last frontier, and on the show they have to once in awhile kill an old cow for meat, and I give them a lot of credit for.being able to do so..
I guess when you're hungry and don't live near a grocery store, life is.much different all around..

See I am the exact opposite. I grew up hunting and fishing but lost it when I went away for school. After a bit I went straight vegetarian because I was disgusted with myself for eating factory meat. I vowed not to eat meat again till I could face it. First deer I shot was indeed hard, especially butchering it. But I honestly think its something more Americans should experience. When you just pick up a pack of meat you're completely divorced from the animal it once was. Actually having to decide when to end an animals life, and all the blood and guts really made me eat less meat, which I don't ever regret. And I think the massive amount of meat consumption in the US has a direct correlation to the abysmal state of American obesity.

But to each his own and all.

the demand for chicken, turkey, cattle whatever is high, like real high, im not going to lie some of the shit they do is a little cruel, likeing cutting there beaks off but they really would pack the shit out of each other, why cant they wait for the turkeys to get old and die then harvest them, is it because the meat gets tuff, idk that video was sick, they can have that job, got to go make some funnel cakes super stoned

A bit...

Here's a pic of some Maasai herdsman "bleeding" one of their cows.

They mix the blood with milk and drink it as a staple food while tending their herds. They've been living this way since.....well, a long damn time.

The pic above shows an indigenous "Russian" family sharing a meal of raw Reindeer meat.

Yes, indeed, things certainly are different when one leaves the world of western man. Not "better", mind you, just "different".

Enjoy your turkey folks, and be thankful that you CAN.

I don't think it's the meat that causes high obesity rates.. it's all the man made garbage that they put into frozen foods and other foods as preservatives and coloring that gets you..

Looking at historical diets you're going to be hard pressed to convince we don't eat too much meat. Its in literally every meal.

But yeah obesity is a mufti-faceted bitch, but excess meat def plays a part. Mostly because people aren't just eating a lean chicken breast. That breast is deepfried, smothered in cheese, and served on a sugar laden bun.
