I have a new appreciation for those who grow outdoors and make it through the whole season. So much can go wrong. Live and learn I guess. Even though I had much urine around the area, deer pellets, varmint pellets, household bug sprays (for the surrounding area), along with mite/fly deterrent on the plants didn't stop the moles (I assume) from eating from the ground up and killing 7 of my 10 plants (all female) and 3' tall.

Tomorrow I WILL be hanging the other 3 in the trees! The only reason they were not eaten was because they were in 5gal buckets in the ground. Oh well...first year outdoors. The positive note is it reduces my chances of being caught. :mrgreen:

Well I didn't expect to make it through the season without something going wrong but who would have suspected that. Never heard of the lime juice thing but it has taught me to keep them in buckets. Everything else was fine other than that. They were so pretty. Oh well.....we'll see what happens with the others. :mrgreen: To get many plants to grow outside really takes a lot of work and preparing. Would be easier if it was in a more controlled environment ( like your back yard ) but I don't have that luxery. I'd prefer indoors anyways but not the right time for that this year either. Oh well...:mrgreen::mrgreen:

I probably have moles on my ass, but I can't quite get around to see back there. I'll have Dave check... (checking). Yep, as I suspected! He says I have moles on my ass, but they won't eat my plants.

Sounds like a personal problem. ;-)


I'm putting my outdoor plants in buckets. No moles around here, but we do have groundhogs. And said groundhogs don't usually want to reach up a 5gal bucket to eat plants. The bugs can be a problem, at least you probably don't have japanese beetles and whatnot indoors...

Yea there is so much more control inside than out. I just wanted to see how it would be like outdoors since I heard so much about how large they get. There is really a lot to it and especially for those who do the guerrilla growing with so many plants... so much work involved. I'll just set up a pulley in a tree for the other ones. I still don't expect much to be honest. But at least I'll learn a bit more about it for when I attempt it again.:mrgreen:

I used to catch them and tie thread on them and watch peoples faces as i was letting them float around.KEEP SMOKE ALIVE!!

hey man i know how ya feel i had 85 plants destroyed but i think it was armidillo they did not eat the plants they just dug em up and left them

Sucks! Now that would piss me off to be honest. My neighbor had these and decided to get rid of them so I took them just so I could experiment. Thought I had it all covered........anyways hats off to you who do it all the time and make it happen.:blsmoke: You could see where they were gnawed on the bottoms by teeth like these --->:mrgreen:
