Using an empty half gallon grapefruit juice bottle to water

I just watered with a half gallon of tap put into an emptied and rinsed out grapefruit juice bottle. I checked the ph and with calmg and veg food general from Organics it was 6.3.

Will she be ok, and should I invest in another watering medium?

If it were me I would get a new sterile container. I treat a grow like a lab experiment, since there are chemicals involved and what is being produced is being consumed. Will you have an issue with the container you are using? in all likelyhood probably not, but what does it cost to get a jug of distilled water and use that jug. It may be worthwhile noting that grapefruit reacts adversely with many medications, would any residual absorbed by the plastic react with something in a nutrient solution. Why bring variables that have no chance of helping a grow into the equation. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Oh and washing plastic with a baking soda solution will help remove any residual in the container.

Note that baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) is a natural pH up, so rinse thoroughly if you use it to clean residuals as Banana said.

On a similar note, citrus is a natural pH down.

I mix my nutes and water in 2 giant kitty litter plastic containers, grape juice container should be fine

A few dollars. Thank you. Distilled is an acceptable medium? Cool. Thanks.

An organic cleanser. Thanks.

Ok I will go get a gallon glass jug. Does citrus cause harm to a lady though?

i use a gallon milk jug because its a gallon and the nutes usually tell you to use 5mg per gallon and it has a lid

No. Citrus doesn't hurt the plants. I use it as pH down every watering/feeding (lemon juice... either that I squeeze or RealLemon).

What is your target ph. I have a hydro setup so not sure what the target is that your after? I maintain a PH of 5.8, 6.5 depending on cycle and strain.

Gallon milk jug is the easiest and most convenient since it's already a gallon. I use FF Trio and they are all measured by by the gallon so that makes it super easy.

I used to water with a couple empty paint cans I found in a ditch. Of course I was dipping water out of a stock pond full of cowshit and moss and assorted scum.

Get ur self a bottle of lemon juice and play wit the water til u get it to a optimal level. None of this stuff is hard we are the one's that complicate it. The simplest solutions are usually the best and the healthiest......... and the jug is fine as u can see we all use different kind of shit. Good Luck and Happy Smoking:bigjoint:
