Carbon filter

Once it has removed the smell from the grow room and the air goes the other side of the carbon filter is there any
smell left ?

Like if I had a grow room at place 1(where the plants are) and put the end of the filter at place 2(a diffrent room
w/o any plants) will place 2 smell like weed ?

If you have the right fan hooked up to your filter it will remove ALL smell.

I do notice a small smell but it is not weed smell. More like a light carbon smell.

Where should the fan be hooked up?
how close should the fan be to the filter
can 2-3 (medium size) PC fans blowing from one side to the other directly to the filter get the job done?

Give me more details. What is the max cfm your filter is rated for. Is your fan an inline fan?
what is the cfm of the inline fan?

What are the dimensions of your grow space?

Air is drawn through the filter, vent tubing, fan, out into adjacent room.

I can give you more info if you answer the questions above.

You need an inline fan to pull air through the filter. Computer fans will not be able to push air through the filter.

I dont have any equipment atm im asking because I want to have everything prepared and know what does what and why and how to do it befor I buy it etc

The room I got is slightly smaller (and I will most likely use only half of it)
2-4 plants

For that space I would get a 4x4 or a 5x5 tent, a dimmable 600 watt HPS and 6 inch inline fan with it's corresponding filter.

I wouldn't bother making your own carbon filter. It sucks. I have tried, it is a pain in the ass and hardly works.

Might as well drop 150-180 dollars on a real carbon filter.

Like guy above said drop the money on the combo. I have a 6inch 400 cfm fan combo for my 4x4x7.5 and I smell NOTHING even standing in the same room. Unplug it during flower you will immediately start to smell it in the room, 5 min later the hallway, 10min later house, 20 min later outside. I can smell it all the way standing at my shed which is about 40 yards from the house if I don't have my filter plugged in.

5x5 tent seems quite small to me

Are there any benefits if I buy a bigger tent like would the plants breath and grow better because of more space and more air inside?

Im also planing on planting more after I get some progress and if the weed sells fast enuf

Also can a dimmable 600 watt HPS produce enough light for 4 plants should I buy 2 lights instead?

Another question related to the filter >

So the room is a basement so its like 1 m below ground after I set up evrything can I make a hole in the middle of the room to put the filter in the ground so the air goes down the ground? (not more than 10cm below the room surface/floor)

If I do that can it suck up air from the ground or w/e ?

iF your not familiar with growing. I can tell you now your dreaming too BIG. Take baby steps and get some grows under your belt. I can tell you know its not gonna work out like your planning. Don't bite more then you can chew

Im asking for the proper way to do it simply because I can afford to dig a simple hole on a flat surface and im curious if its gonna work since it would make sense its alot better

About the other equipment I dont see anything hard except the soil and nutrients (also my father might help so thats a big +)

Im rly not dreaming big... its just basic stuff that I should know befor doing w/e

I would like to get some quality weed so I can sell it fast

You a see what I mean SOON ENOUGH. I went into growing with the same mind set as you. What you got to realize is you don't have nothing dialed in its going to take a couple of grows to do that.

There is no need to argue its obvious everyone is going to fail at the very start

But adding a few additional things to the grow wont make it any harder

Pie knows what she's talking about. a 5x5 is more than enough space for 4 huge plants. You haven't even germed a seed. You don't really need to worry about controlling smell quite yet. You sound like your freaking yourself out and you haven't even started. Better hope that helicopter doesn't start flying around your grow spot lol.

This is my advice to get started and produce good bud quickly, order a good 5 pack of fem seeds, order a. 4x4 tent, an air cooled 600 digital/dimmable light, a good 6" inline fan/carbon filter combo(read the reviews because some of the cheap filters suck and dont use a booster fan) and run perlite hempy buckets and run lucas with no boosters. Hempy buckets will speed your veg time up, lucas isnt the best but it produces well. If you live in the south a portable ac is a life saver during the summer, vent your exhaust out of the grow room. Run 4 plants under the 600, veg sativa doms 12-14" and flip, run indica doms to 18" and flip, they will finish about 4' and fill the tent. When you get that down you would be ready for more lights and a bigger tent. Thats the best/ simplest method id say to use for a first timer.
