Yup, you were right (of course). And it wasn't that I didn't believe you (cough), it was just that I'd read soooo much stuff, decided on a plan, and there you were saying it was wrong.. As long as you forgive my temerity .... but YOU made the right call. Looks pretty good now, huh? And shows you how quickly plants recover.. Have a good one man.

really its a learning experience, the tricky part is learning how to read the plant/s, they can tell us allot about what they like, or don't like, just by the way they react. ....and by the looks of things she is bouncing back fast!

yes they are very resilient, but they can only take so much, for so long...before it starts going down hill. I'm happy to see the improvement in such a short time!

Couldn't agree more. The stupid thing is that I have loads of other kinds of plants and I'm great with them...like you say, they're easy to read. I think I just got sucked into the general panic that surrounds new weed growers. But now she's definitely breathing a sigh of relief...well, breathing at all, which is a start!

Couldn't agree more. The stupid thing is that I have loads of other kinds of plants and I'm great with them...like you say, they're easy to read. I think I just got sucked into the general panic that surrounds new weed growers. But now she's definitely breathing a sigh of relief...well, breathing at all, which is a start!

I have no idea what it is about MJ, I, too have always had a "green thumb". But I seemed to "lose it" when it came time to grow MJ. Somehow in our psyches there is something magical and mystical about the plant, enough so that science and common sense goes out the window and we will believe in anything. I didn't get panic attacks when my schefelera started dropping leaves, didn't freak when my diffenbachia browned at the tips.
Why is it that I can have a really beautiful & thriving Ficus and it's no big deal, but grow a bud the size of my arm and the first thing I am absolutely compelled to do is show it off to the entire free world??? LOL

Glad to see your lil girl is doing better buddy and yep I got to agree with Jack...we grow all types of plants and gardens with no prob and no need/want to show them off...but grow a nice weed plant and suddenly you're a proud papa and handing out cigars and showin pics...lol...so just for that I took a couple pics...I've posted my veggie garden a few times, but would have to get my external drive to find them now, so here's my chrismas cactus and my african violet ...

Really not trying to kick a dead horse here but where did you read that 5" was ok for an HID? hehe... For seedlings/clones a T5 should be further away than that, lol.

And for young plants under an HID, everything I've read(books) says start it as high up as possible at first and gently lower to 12-24" above them for the rest of the grow.

You're partially right there...actually I start all my clones/beans/veg under a double/quad 4' HO-T5 and CFLs and I put them 2-3 inches away...but...I have 4-6" fans circulating air to them, and on them at all times so it never gets too hot for them...cuz I use a mixed spectrum 3000k/4100k/mostly 6500k to veg/clone/bean sprouts...and it gets warm...good luck and reading regular horticulture books are great cuz the weed plant is REALLY close to a tomato plant in nutrients and light spectrums..........I might add I have several rooms to do my grows...I have my CFL/quarintine/clone/bean/small veg room...a 2,000w HID veg room...and 2-2,000w HID flower rooms...and hey welcome to RIU...and happy growin

Man, those look fantastic! I thought I'd join you and post some pics of my other plants, but I dropped my phone down the toilet yesterday performing a particularly complicated photographic manoeuvre (plant-related, I assure you..)

Man, that sounds like a serious operation you got going there. Kinda puts my efforts to shame.. an great info about the tomatoes - again, that nugget was lodged inaccessibly somewhere in my brain, so I'll check that out. Ah, my old granddad would have been proud...
