... here is my non-automotive guilty pleasure.

is that an r.c. cannabineer, or just a glider?? i do know you love a lot of things aeronautical though... guy i used to skate board with as a teen is now big into those rc planes, quad copters and what not... seems like a cool hobby, but a bit out of my price range atm..

JUST a glider???

I'll have you know (he said in a noisy rustle of bruised dignity)* that the most sublime (sober)** moment of my life was in the one-person cockpit of an unpowered aircraft at 8100 feet over central Jersey. The year was 1986. Imagine being inside a Frisbee of brand-new cumulus cloud. it was like French kissing an angel of God.

lmfao.. i was waiting for that very response from you with the just a glider comment.. too funny...

i didn't mean just a glider as in trying to brush off a glider, i meant just a glider as in not an rc plane, but rather a glider, i guess that would have been a better way of wording it, lol..

and yeah, i can't imagine being attached to a larger sized plane, and that moment of release and then nothingness, just floating in the air for miles and miles.. would have to be pretty awesome..

and i guess floating over central new jersey in an un-powered craft would have to be much better than floating over central jersey in one full of hydrogen.. :fire:

My (powered plane) pilot friend gives me no end of shit for flying Bricks. "What kind of FUCKtard flies an unpowered airplane????" lolol

But the sensation of wearing a 600-pound airplane with just wires between stick and control surfaces ... while feeling for the way the air is rising (variometer was on the fritz so I was tapping the altimeter; adapt improvise overcome), finding the core of the thermal anyway and riding it up like the coda of a Zep song (ant, cheese, buyyyyinggg...) a stairway to heaven oh sweet my. I do miss those days.

ehh this is the way to go man. 145k and you could be flying this. only takes 2 weeks to get your license to fly it and the price of the license is already in that price. i love this thing.

Long fucking day, just now coming in from the garage at 1:04 am, but it is all done.

Now if only I had the money, stage 4 clutch, new short shift, new interior, and a respray.
GTI build is going swell, but it's gonna be on back burner while I save up some cash.
Pics to come, phone was murdered while on a 4 wheeler ride last night.

My car's front bumper can push a Redbull can on its side and i can still pull into most driveways with minor scraping. Its all about the angle and knowing how to drive a slammed car, i've been doing it for 20 years...
