im in soil know but will soon experiment with aeroponics alongside my soil grows i will let everyone know which i prefer once there up and running. i have to say a soil grow should never take 7 months if there is no problem. to answer someones question mosquito dunks are safe for humans and pets it is bacteria that attack the larval stage of fungus gnats and mosquito larvae also look into 'beneficial nematodes' a company called orcon has many cool pest control products all natural orcon.com

For me it is simple...I enjoy working the soil and growing the old way.
My yields have been consistent and potent. I just do not have the ability to switch to Hydro though I understand it's merits quite well...in fact hydroponics may end world hunger one day.

i only do two to three plants at a time in soil, but your right trying to water 25 plants would be a huge pain in the ass

The advantages of automation may also be applied to soil, and if you're growing 25 plants and haven't realized this, you are wasting countless hours.

Setting up an automated irrigation system in soil is simple, cheap, and prevents most of the overwatering and human error of hand-watering (they are still programmed by a human, after all). It also makes tuning your watering and nutrition regimen very easy. The retention of soil also gives you a little more cushion should your pump fail .. not to mention you can take a vacation with no worries.

For me, it's the best of both worlds.

oh, i'm not growing 25 plants in soil Al B. was just making a point that for that large of an op hydro is easier because you can automate it. heh heh i only grow 2-3 at a time due to space so i do still hand water

yeah, i was just saying hypothetically. i was only growing a few when i went with auto-irrigation because of a two week vacation.
