ok i am a little confused about something.
i read a guy who built a Statium room with 4 MH lights for flowering??
why not just use 4 hps?
can anyone explain why he chose MH over hps?

You can use MH for the intire grow if you have plenty of wattage per square foot. The 3000K MH bulbs give you primarily yellow and orange with a pretty good dose of Red and Blue. They seem to work very well with less stretch that you can get with HPS lights. I am a minority, but I prefer using a MH only.
If you want maximum yield per watt the sodium is probably the best choice.

Mix them both in..... it's nice to spread your spectrum plants use different spectrums for different things... HPS will promote higher usable lumens per light as well as better Red spectrum than MH... MH, is closer to the blue spectrum than HPS.

Adding a little blue spectrum while flowering will also help keep your plants from stretching and promote nice compact bushy plants.

My advice would be for flowering go HPS mixed in with t5ho 6500k lights for that extra blue spectrum. Also add some reptile lights(UVB) to stress your plants and get them to produce a little extra THC( reference: YouTube - THC, UVB and Me)

Hope this helped!
