ADG's first micro grow

So have a grow or 2 under my belt and had a clone from my current grow so I have decided to take an old bookcase and somehow grow and flower this plant in there.
The bookcases dimensions are 33in tall 9in deep 22in wide.
Ive painted the inside white (somewhat of a poor job still needs another layer) and I currently have 2x26w 6500k cfls in there
I will be adding 4 more once the plant gets bigger.
Unfortunately this groq will have to suffer with limited resources meaning the soil ima be using isnt the best byfar and the only ventilation it will have is when the lights are on.
The strain im growing is a clone of some purp. I took this clone right after the mother plant showed sex and im kinda concerned with how its growing just hope it pulls through.

I was inspired to try this method of growing from Merk. I seen his tiny pc grow and had to try something similar myself. I will be using a flower pot similar to his. So ty merk for the inspiration hope I can pull a decent harvest like this.

Another idea is a longer but shorter pot, same space, smaller height = more room for your plants. Otherwise, I am excited to see what this can bring ya. If you really want to get something crazy going, I would like to see some PL-L lights on the roof, they are only about a half inch thick so you could get some more space up there.

What are you doing for ventilation?

The pot its going to be in is 15 long 7 wide and 6 tall thats inchs of course. Its going to be sitting on a shelf that I can raise and lower so ima keep it as close to the lights as possible.
And as I said there probably won't be any ventilation besides a draft of fresh air when the lights are on so the only time they won't get fresh air is when I put then into flowering and have to cover the front up unfortunately thats what I have to deal with on this grow but overall I think it'll be ok.
I should be doing the transplant into the bigger pot here soon just gotta get some perlite and new soil.

I recommend flipping the cab to sit vertically. It'll ensure that your plant doesn't outgrow its grow space.

Here with a lil update I meant to do this last night but couldn't find the time. First id like to get back to anyone with questions or feedback of any kind.

@notballin-you might of missed where I put the dimensions of the box but the cab is actually about 10in taller than it is wide the reason the space looks so small is because I have a shelf in there that I can move up and down. I can insure you i wont run out of space. But thank you for your input hope you stick around to see how things play out.


Ok so now for the update to be honest no clue what day im on from the time I cloned it but things are looking good. I got her transplanted now into the final pot and I was lucky enough to grab some perlite prier to the transplant so hopefully that will make my soil alot better as far as airflow to the roots. She seems to be happy and is growing alot faster than the mother did so thats good to see. Now on to pic's.

Now ive noticed that it didnt fully revert to veg when I took the clone it still grows without producing flowers but the single bladed leaves are all thats growing now instead of the 5 finger leaves so that worries me a lil. Just hope it doesn't start flowering before im ready for it to. Oh and its under 24/7 lighting if I haven't already said that.

Those funky leaves are typical of a reveg, she won't throw out the regular leaves for some time so nothing to be worried about. Unless it's an auto, no way that it will begin to flower under 24/7 lighting.

You might notice faster growth under 18/6. I've read many places and experienced myself that the short dark period appears to give the plant rest so it can focus more on growth. Kinda like how we need to sleep at night to function properly.

She looks good and happy in there so far though. Like how you're growing along the length of the pot

@ ganja.queen- thanks for stopping in and for letting me know that its normal to have those leaves only 2nd time ive ever cloned. To address the lighting I was planning on turning it to 18/6 just not sure when probably be next day or 2 now that it is in it's final pot. And yea figured if I was gonna pull a decent yield id have to train that way for the space im in.

Thanks hopefully she stays healthy I know 1 thing its looking alot better than its mother thats forsure lol. I hope it has some nice dense purple nugs.

I know I love it. Thats why I like clones always female and in my experience it doees tend to branch out faster. I definitely vplan on taking a clone off this before I flower and ill probably take another off the mother to why not lol.

Also i plan on putting up another power strip and putting 2 more lights up. I had originally planned for 6 lights total but if I do that a few of them would be a little to close together but wouldn't be touching. When I put them in flower I'll try all 6 bulbs if I cant control temps or I have any problems I go back to just 4.

If you end up having a problem with temps trying subbing a couple LED bulbs in there. They don't run as hot, and you can get some high quality ones (Cree) from Home Depot for about 8 bucks. @ganja.queen- the room its in has been around 65 and I also have a 250w light in a wardrobe beside this one and it normally dont get hotter than 85 at the hottest so I think ill be fine with temps but I will keep that in mind ty.


Ok time for another update its beem roughly a week minus a day or 2 so figured id show the new amount of growth. I was kinda harsh when tieing her down but she'll be alright
And ima have to make the switch to 12/12 in the next few days but heres some pic's.

So here we are with another update.
A few days ago I decided to go ahead and add all 6 of the 26w cfls im going to be using in flowering. As of now there's 4 6500k bulbs and 2 3500k bulbs. Unfortunately I dont have anymore 3500k bulbs like I thought so it looks like these are gonna have to do the job for this grow.
I haven't made the switch yet mainly because im waiting to take clones and when I do ill have to train the canopy a little more so everything will be evenly spread out.
Other than that nothing has really changed except her size.







There is definitely things I want to change next time I do a grow in this box.
First thing, I need ventilation. Although the way the box is setup it would do fine without I still feel it would help.
Second, I really want to do a scrog next time around it would make alot better use of space.

Thanks dude hopefully she gets bigger in the week to come. I took the clone the day of the update to flowering should be upon us soon.
Bad news though I came out this morning to check on her and she was to close to the lights amd she was wilted from lack of water. She is drinking alot faster than she has been. So I moved the shelf down gave her a heavy feeding.

I came out tonight and shes 100% back in action minus the burnt leaves from veing to close to those cfls lol whoops. I'm definitely going to check on her more often so things like this dont happen again.

Gorgeous lookin grow Ginger!! Can't believe how big that girl is gettin, she's lookin like a monster already. Loving the LST work too, don't worry about being too harsh, just watch you don't go snapping anything off in the process, that's been one of my occasional errors. I love it when you leave them a couple days and go back to do some watering and the shock at how fast things've moved on.
