i just picked up a vw.. its my 4th vw.. but 1st golf. rest were jettas. i had a 97 glx vr6 , 2001 1.8t, and a 2004 gli vr6. this ones a mk3, 1997 golf gl with 172k on it.. but it runs so good. i had a problem with the shift set up. i just needed to drop the cat and tighten a couple bolts under the shift tower. was pretty funny because my 97 jetta did the same thing. had to throw the shifter into 2nd the slam it to 1st. got pretty annoying so i rebuilt the whole shift setup with a rebuild kit. this time i knew what i was looking for and didnt even have to rebuild it.. should of tried that when i had the jetta lmao. i got the car for 1300 and it runs and looks great.. no dents.. could use some paint. and the interior looks brand new.. gonna be a fun build. its a vw so i already did my 1st little tiny thing, what i could do in a few minutes lol.. threw a k&n filter on it. monday is my next day off so ill probably pull it apart and see how good of shape its really in, and if its pretty decent...

(if i dont find a decent priced vr6 engine to toss in it 1st :) )

My daily driver is a 98 golf k2. When I bought it, it only had 88k on it.
I've only had one car that wasn't a vw, and that was a 93 300zx2+2.
