how did you find out about the two bolded claims you made?

how did you find out that college admissions officers "denied a slot" to you to "someone else with a different skin color"?

how did you find out that "we" (you and the other applicant) "came from similar socio-economic backgrounds"?

who told you that?

how did you determine the socio-economic background of the other applicant? how did you determine the skin color of the other applicant?

these are things that no college admissions officer, especially of a "top national university", would disclose to a rejected participant.

i want answers to my questions.

the claims you made are not even remotely believable without a photograph of the rejection letter or e-mail.

I was being generous. If you're not white (and not Asian), you pretty much automatically get points, regardless of your socio-economic background. You should be attacking this instead of pretending it's not reality.

That's common knowledge man, some colleges like UM and Harvard even brag about it in the name of diversity (unless you are Asian, got enough of those). Hell, Univ of Mi even went to the state Supreme Court to fight for the right to keep doing it.

You may agree with this practice and have no issue with it, but pretending it doesn't happen won't help your race based causes, you come off as dishonest instead of just enlightened to the fact that some skin colors need more help than others as you claim, you know because of slavery 150 years ago.

But I do know. I looked at the test score and GPA stats myself and compared them to the portion of the class that was "reserved"; obviously the numbers didn't add up. Anyone who knows anything about college admissions knows exactly what happens.

If you want to advocate race-based affirmative action, do it, but don't pretend that more qualified people aren't turned away in favor of less qualified people solely on the basis of skin color. Why does no one want to admit this ugly, racist reality? I take it you two don't like it? Because you're insistent on saying "You don't know! You have no idea!" Look at some damn stats.

The Republicans really screwed up with this shutdown. They are unhappy with Obama Care, which I can understand (doesn't mean I agree). But shutting down the government won't accomplish anything on that front. It does, however, make them look bad. Most Americans do view this the result of sour grapes. It was a severe miscalculation on the Republican part. And if that wasn't bad enough, the shutdown has almost completely drowned out the registration opening up for Obama Care. So they shot themselves in the foot this way too by removing the focus and scrutiny from that while the media is obsessed with the shutdown.
