As far as proxies not being all they're cracked up to be, I couldn't tell you. But I will tell you this. Your computer broadcasts an internet address. As I understand it (and again I stress that I'm not real computer savy so all you techies reading this and thinking 'what the hell?' lay off) when you visit sites your computer stores cookies which can then be used to track you and what sites you've been on.

you can erase cookies easily click on tools at the top in your tool bar go to internet options then scroll to delete cockie and you can delete your search history.

I'm worried about them using my Ip address to find out were I'm loggong on from.

And when you talk to your computer buddy let me know whats up.

They can also query into what you've been searching for on sites like google. The best example of this is on Maddox's web page, The Best Page In The Universe. Check out his hate mail page, and he actually puts an example of him looking up someones query on google. Scary what someone who knows about this crap can do.

Yeah that's a part of what you can do. Also delete your history, which will get rid of whatever websites you typed into your dropdown bar.

*****Erasing your hard drive******
I have heard tell of people reformatting their hard drives every six months or so, not only does this get rid of all incriminating evidence, but it's supposedly good for cleaning up all kinds of crap that builds up from everyday use of my computer

On the downside it's time consuming prepare to devote a couple of hours to doing it if you go that route.

deleting your cookies and memory and harddrives will only get rid of circumstantial incriminating evidense after they already captured your computer, they are not gona need them after they have harvested 2 dosen girls from your bacyard lol...or can anybody see thees things in my computer just by me beeng on this sight?
