Doing a closet grow. 42"x 6'. Figured 5 plants for the first grow. No transplanting for me, I like the idea of start to finish in the same place. Got to reroute a vent in the room to the closet tomorrow. Plan on getting a filter setup when they start to flower.

Plants are showing a little N deficancy and are starting to stretch, only a couple days left until im on 12/12. Increasing the N in my foliar feeding mix. These are hungry girls and eat up lot of nutes

Hey Folks time for a big update hooray! Tommorow being the first day of 12/12 today I decided to do some LST with my plants to try and even out the canopy, a few of the colas were becoming to dominate and growing higher then the rest of the plant so I decided to pin them down. I started with a string wrapped around the pot and anchored underneath it and then tied the colas I wanted to the ring. Also while I was poking around in the canopy I cleared out any dead leaves that I could find, they tend to get stuck in the dense branches of the canopy after falling off so its a good idea to clear them out regularly so they don't develop mold. Todays third goal was to take some clones, im not going to root these clones as I have a pretty strict 5 plant limit, instead I am keeping them in a ziplock bag with water and keeping them in the fridge until needed. I've heard I can keep cuttings for up to 2 months like this and I have a 2 month flowering time roughly so lets hope it works out :)
anywas on to the before and after pics, enjoy! Im still fighting tooth and nail with fungus gnats, I get some money tomorrow im going to pick up som hydrogen peroxide and some garden sand and hopefully it will work, I really cant afford to keep spending money on pest control products that haven't been working, It started with 2 or 3 gnats now there is literally swarms of them in my garden and I barely even want to go in there

I didn't tie down every cola on every plant just enough to spread them out a bit and even out the height of the canopy

Hard to find good quality LEDs without paying a mint. The ones from china are all hit and miss, the spectrums aren't always spot on, I grew some pretty decent bud using 5 90-watt led UFOs and a couple large cfl, buds were smaller than HPS but good quality. From my experience yield is based mostly on wattage, each watt gets you .3-1 gram, more than likely about .6 per watt on the average. The best reasons for led use are because heat is not able to dissipate, and keeping power to a minimum. If you have good ventilation I would go HPS every time just for the higher yields. I saw some powder residue on the soil, use some sm-90 and it will help that out.

thanks but that's not powdery mildrew its diatomaceous earth. I think if u use equal wattage of LED that you would have used HPS then the yield will be equal or at least really close.

QUick update, watered yesterday with 10 liters of water + 2 liters of hydrogen peroxide as well as a heavy dose of sensi grow. Checked my plants today and its gone from hundreds of fungus gnats to just 1 overnight, very impressed with the peroxide wish I had just tried that first. Plants are looking super healthy and starting to stretch a little in preparation for flower, tonight will be the third night of full 12/12

If past Blueberry grows have taught me anything, the taller seedling is a male and the two shorter ones are females.
The led is doing fine.

Hey Adjorr, so far so good, huh? I've been enjoying your grow and am looking forward to the rest. If I may say one thing, it's that you need to stop thinking in wattage when it comes to LED. 40 watts of CREE bulbs will eat a 90w (closer to 65 watts), Chinese UFO's lunch. That's why you can't say x amount of wattage is good enough for x amount of space. You can say you need x amount of wattage from company y's panels but once you try to compare wattages against different diodes/panels your sunk. So while you blast away with the Chinese panel, an Area51 or Apache will need much less wattage to produce similar results. That's why you pay more for CREE/Nichia diodes than Chinese mystery diodes. Good, efficient diodes of similar wattage will beat an HPS, while poor diodes won't come close. Wattage is best used for HPS/CMH. It's much more complicated with LED, especially when efficiencies increase all the time. The latest XP-G2 diodes from CREE just increased output by 7%. And in a year who knows?

Hope you don't mind me preaching here, I just like to see peeps get it right when it comes to LEDs. Oh and Trousers you need to drop your light closer if you want tighter nodal distance.

Good Luck Guys!

Im going to post some pics. ill grow 1 plant with cfl and flower it with cfl. a 75 dollar one t5 2 foot 4 bulb. vs any led on the market. I bet the t5 will have more yield higher quality better looking plant then the led. and at 1/10 of the price. a 75 dollar t5 my bet will out preform a 750 led in veg and flower.

good post.. i also use direct from china LED custom spectrum.. they kick ass. i see ppl still have old out dated info about LED never mind direct from china led's.. but that's ok.. my two 300w led's work just as good as the ones for three times the price

^^^No they don't, you just tell yourself that. If you've never owned a decent panel how do you know your lights are that good? You don't. I've owned Blackstars, Vipars, 5x60s and sure you can grow weed with them, you just have to pay the e company more money per month. True efficient diodes cost money and if the Chinese were making diodes like that they would charge the big money for them. They're not stoopid. Oh have you sold anymore of those shit panels you were pushing last time i saw you around?

Nope. The light is exactly where it needs to be.
One of the plants is stretching and likely male. The other two have stacked nodes and are growing as expected. This is not my first rodeo.

Best thing I have found for getting rid of any bugs is Azamax you can water the plant with it and use it as a spray. I have tried DE and all the other sprays out there and Azamax works the best. You also need a fungicide to kill the fungis the gnats are feeding on, I used Green Cure fungicide and it worked well. To prevent any bugs I always treat/spray for the first 3 weeks I fee this is a good idea because you never know and once you see the first few bugs it is too late. Also dont over water this causes the fungis, let the soil dry out between waterings, if it is still wet dont water yet. No standing water in the grow space, run off is the worst cause for this. To keep from over watering and having standing run off water I now water small amounts daily instead of a large watering every few days.

Thanks for the comments guys, im not sold on the idea that a brand name LED will work better then a Chinese LED of the same wattage and spectrum but you are certaintly entitled to voice ur opinion. Kindiesel I look forward to seeing you 1 t5 bulb vs 750w LED comparison, feel free to post pictures in this thread so I don't miss out. While you claim sounds proposterious im sure you not just saying it for the pleasure of posting something negative and I fully expect you will follow through on your promise:roll:
I don't think I can get azamax where I live, nowhere I go carries anything better then Safers End All. What I would like is to get some BTI mosquito dunks but id need to get them off ebay since I cant find them around here either. I know not to overwater, I always let my soil go dry, however from what ive learned about gnats the larva merely go dormant in dry soil and as soon as it gets wet again they come back to life.

Today after my earlier post I did some cleanup work, finding all the dead leaves in the canopy and top of the soil. I washed my grow tent, and hung some fly traps. Then I added a thick layer of diatomaceous earth to the top layer of the soil. I have to keep applying it because as soon as it gets wet it becomes useless. I had wanted to get some garden sand for the tops of my pots but the hardware store was sold out and I didn't feel like traveling into the city to drive around looking for sand. The fungus gnats are still around but im hoping I will be able to bring them under control soon, there population seemed diminished today. Ive also mixed some cinanamen into the top of the soil, it is a natural fungicide and will help kill the larvas food source.

Figured since I had the plants out id take some pics, so enjoy!

you are absolutely right i haven't used them.. but i have seen plenty of grows in forums/youtube/etc.. and none of their grows look any better then mine.. i don't have to use the light to see how it works.. there are plenty of grows out there posted w/brand name LED's..and FYI most of the "brand name" are all Chinese parts.. and i don't sell panels.. i don't give a shit what you bye or how much you spend.. i bought Chinese lights.. worked so good i bought another one...don't be a hater cuz you got fucked on your light!!!

ironic someone would tell you, YOU CAN'T KNOW cuz you never used one.. then they tell you about something they never used.. but i guess i'd be pissed too if i payed 3x as much as someone else for the same results.

You can get Azamax online, Neem oil work pretty well also. I just finished my last grow and I had a Darkstar 250w LED over part of the grow, it is a $600 light when bought new a few years ago. I can back up the fact that they are China made and China parts sold under different names in the USA. They type of LEDs in the light are important and some of the cheaper $50 lights are no good for flowering but are fine for veg. Stop the pissing contest if the lights work then they work the end. I had people telling me that there was no way I could get a good harvest with HO T5 but I have been proving those people wrong by pull 1 oz+ per plant with a small grow.
