Hey guys,

I get anxiety from time to time but I am currently on a program for opiate withdrawal. Its suboxone. So when I speak to my doctor he always thinks I am trying to get valium for the wrong reasons when I genuinely want them to calm my anxiety. My girlfriend gets them and she gets about 100x5mg per month. She has a low tolerance to everything so she just gives me some vals whenever I need them.

Anyways, I stumbled upon Silk Road and started ordering xanax which was ideal for me. I enjoyed them way more than I do valium and they just seem to sit better with me. Now with SR going down I couldn't get xanax anymore so I have to settle for my partners 5mg vals.

A friend of a friend can get xanax and usually its about $5 a brick when buying 1-2. Im in Aus and thats just the going rate roughly. This guys said he can get 'BOTTLES' for $250 so I am like yeh that's cool. Then he goes on and says it is $5 a brick so I was like wtf, a bottle of 25 STILL at $5 a brick. Can someone clarify if xanax come in bottles of 25, as I always seen bottles on Silk Road advertised at around the same price in Aus but they always said 50x2mg bricks so I always assumed xanax just came in bottles of 50. Never seen a bottle advertised with 25...Has this guy really got a 'full' bottle of 25 or is he trying to do me over for half a bottle.

Also, if I was buying a bottle, wouldn't you think I would get a discount for buying that many, but he still wants $5 a brick...

Careful with benzos man. Kicking them makes kicking opioids look like a walk in the park.
You can get pure alprazolam powder and dissolve it and put the solution on things and let it dry.

But yea to my knowledge no such thing as a 25 count bottle..I mean I don't know how y'all do things, but we fill a patient for the month. My pharmacy carries a 30 count bottle and the 50 count you mentioned, and upwards ..... also pharmaceuticals that are made legally are generally sold to a prescribed patient and resold on the streets. Pharmaceuticals don't get cheaper when you buy in bulk like street made drugs because the initial cost for the patient to acquire the drugs doesn't change and is quite high..

With benzos that cost is quite low even if you don't have insurance, the problem is that patients have limited supplies and often need to make a certain amount of money from the rx which means there is no break for bulk.

Damn our rates are high! I was checking and you can get the same brand and everything at wallyworld for like 10 bucks.. I think they have only certain medicine at this price..but it seems alot falls into that category

Yeah, generic benzos should be very cheap. Most of the cost of the rx is the per rx fill fee that you get.

No matter what I get at the pharmacy I allways ask for generic..I read that they have to be absolutely identical in chemical composition as regulated by the us govt..so why pay more for a name..actually I didn't read that,a friends wife works the gs/ms machine at barr labs(maker of lortab)..she told me that..

While some generics are the exact same formulation made in the same place. Many are not, all that is the same is the bioavailability or equivalency really..
Many of my "patients" can only take either the generic or certain brands because the binders didn't agree with them, the drug wasn't as effective, or even different side effects....in many cases the generic is stronger and is liked better. For example we carry a generic pink 20mg adderall tab that is requested almost every time because its more effective

Not dissagreing with ya qwizo,but I'm gonna rely on the info that a woman who makes pills gave me.that's why there is a gs/ms used on each batch to ensure criteria for govt regulations are met...not that it means a lot to me..I don't take pills unless the dr gives em to me..and I don't go to the dr..id rather get hit in the head with a brick than take xanax..basically it'll do the same thing...but to each their own..

They need to be within a range of bioequivalence. Total drug amounts must be within 80-125% of the brand name drug, but there is nothing about similar peak serum levels, etc. I personally have found some generics are better than others. Whether it's just my own bias or not is hard to tell. Generally small molecule immediate release drugs are fine to take as generics. Many time release drugs seem to have issues when the generics come out (anyone remember the original generic OCs? One brand was good and the other two used different mechanisms and sucked!) and I'm rather worried about what will happen now that the biologic drugs are starting to come off patent. The laws just aren't written in a way that makes sense for them.

I wonder if they reformulated afterwords I don't really know that much about it..but since they now produce both you could be right on that point of then being exactly the same...in general we only fill the generic we carry unless the prescription says its medically necessary or we get a patient request, as the pharmacy gets more money and the contract allots a specific amount to sell....in any case the FDA allows a 45% variability in the active ingredients (damn duck beat me..I'm a slow typer)

Do you know how strict the composition of barrs generics are to the proprietary.. like the exact differences, I would be interested to hear about specific variability of different drugs especially between batches of the name brand
