Help With Lights.

I am an outdoor grower. due to a cold snap that struck right after i began to germinate my seeds, i had to start them indoors. so i planted them in egg cartons with drainage. the soil is about 40% vermiculite and 60% light, fluffy premixed potting soil. The plants are under 4 CFLs. there are about 33 seedlings. some are yellowing at tips. i have read that this could be due to the warm white CFLs. i have very limited growing space. I dont have room to raise the CFLs. If i didnt raise them but added some cool white fluorescents, would this solve my problem?

I am currently having the problem you are having and am also using an egg carton. I used starting soil and have used 2 cool white CFLs. They seem to be doing fine and should be planted some time soon. Good luck!

Do you have any pictures? As long as the heat isn't a factor, you should be fine. Do a test with your hand and make an assessment. If it is too much heat, then move the lights back a little. Good luck with transplanting outside.
