Don't panic :) give them a couple of weeks to get some leaves going. Then do not defoliate lol hate that crap.

If you're going to top them try waiting till about 7th node for a huge bush.

Looking great. Right on point for 1 week since starting germ. It may just be the lighting temp, but they look a little yellow possibly? Consider pulling the lights back to avoid burning? Good luck on the bakers dozen, the 13-Pack!

No yellowing at all, maybe it just looks like that in the pics I had the light (1000w MH) further like 3 feet for the first week and I just recently lowered it down to 2 feet and they seem fine. Yea the bakers doZen bro, u know what's up!

They look nice and green right now, the pics make them look more yellow then they actually are. At 8-9 days old is 24 inches away too close? I gradually lowered the light their and they seem fine to me.

ahhh..........the 1000 mh is a little strong for seedlings

with young plants it better to use CFLs or a t5 after that 2nd or 3rd nod gets in is when u want to go to the Hid

u can grab a 6500k (super daylight) CFL 23 watt and a work light clip on for 2 work light clip ons(this is the term u need to use when looking in home depot or walmart) and a 4 pack of bulbs run yah 25 bucks

All I got to work with is the 1000w, and getting anything anything else for my young plants is def not an option, I HAVE TO use the 1000 watter. I been keeping a close eye on them everyday and they look good so far no yellowing or nothing. I kept them a few feet away and gradually lowered it to where it is no, around 24-.28 inches.

honestly man here look

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Commercial-Electric-150-Watt-Incandescent-Clamp-Light-CE-300PDQ/100354511#.Uj0Z9T-c42I

i know u are a canook or very close to the line there ..............but as u see the price is cheap and if u need something else they offer free shiping once u spend only 45 bucks

i am only saying this becuase i know the effect will make u happy .............the results are night and day (bulbs i linked are 2800 lumens and cfl make less heat they can be with in 2 and half inches ) the clip on lights are rated for 150watt bulbs the ones on there are 43 (so fire chance is small and u can go away with easy mind and heart once u make sure the point the clip on light is stable )

Canook...lol yea I am close to Canada but not quite (in Maine) thx for the links and advice, but honestly at the tIme Im going to have to keep useing my hid and make due with what I got. Next go round I'll def look into the cfl's. Have u ever used any kind of hid for seedlings? I'll just keep a close eye on them, shoUls I watch out for burning? YellOwing?

the hid light is just to strong at first for the plants they will not use all the light like they would off a cfl or a t5

so the growth part will be slower untill they hit a few nodes on the plant after that they can take in the engery from the Hid light at full power

it like when u plant outside (u want the spourts to get some light but not full direct light) ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and the honest truth is unless u have been u are ready to clip and train the plants u will get under site budding with the clip on light u can use a philps flood plant light and fill in that area u can not reach with the Hid (the blue mammoth strain i was only to get 20 or so grams i am going to pull out near 2 oz)

2 600 w HID HPS and MH at same time plus the 2700k floods for the lower brachings
