check around the inside of the walls just @ the ceiling. Lots of apartments and condos are built with the framing around the edges of closets walls. Its cheap and ab/s method but it is used.....

OR/ Look for parallel studs in the walls and put up one of those permanent closet bars near the ceiling that run cross ways to hang hangers on.....

alright so i bought something from lowes. the people there were assholes and wouldn't help me build shit. i guess its home depot next time lol. Anyways, i bought a clothes rack and it does hold the hps, it's just not that tall. It's about 26" from the top of the resevoir. That means it's going to be about 23" away from the seedlings and I have no way of raising the light. I don't think this is a reasonable, especially when they start getting bigger.

Though I am measuring this with my old resevoir which is almost twice as big. Can you all judge this for me, just picture with the resevoir half the size and tell me if this is managable or should I return this.

Take a look at the simple diagram I made you and let me know what you think
some eye screws in the cross piece and S hooks and your set
also given that space dimension and that reservoir I would hang the light 90 degrees from whats shown in the picture
less light comes out from front to back and more from side to side with those reflectors
so to fill from wall to wall better turn it 90 degrees

thank you alto i am going to return this pos lol. I thought thats what was trying to be explained but now that I see it drawn i understand lol. I'm a little slow and am HORRIBLE at construction, even if it is simple lol!! I'll make some measurements and go to home depot and get it cut and try this again!!! Thanks alot bro!!!

yeah its a simple fix and will hold some good weight as long as the ones attached to the wall are solid
remember to put a 2x4 on the rear wall as well
so you can hang the light between it and the movable 2x4.
because that light orientation (socket toward the rear wall)
looks to be the best for your space to me.

I belong to 4 different forums and never have received a rep, good or bad. I see this forum uses the rep system. I'm a newbie with the rep idea too.

As for the closet structure I do drywall (sheetrock) for a living so thought it would be helpful. There are many ways to frame a house and was using a typical joist layout. Finding the wall studs will be easier to find if the PVC clothes rack idea does not work out.

Well I would go with Alto's idea. I did some thing similar but should of had the chains for adjustment early. You have enough chain so keep the 2X4 as high as possible.

yeah im about to head out the door to return it. I have a stud finder, the ceiling has 0 studs, the wall has a few though. I will go get some wood cut. I measured it and it's 62 1/8th' wide and then i'll get some small 2x4s and some really strong long nails.

there's always grow closets/huts.... which are pretty much PVC or metal frames with panda plastic wrapped around them!

toolage I still think You would be better off finding studs in the walls to put a clothes bar across the VERY top of the closet. That would remove all possible height restrictions other than that of the ceiling and give you the strongest possible apparatus to hold your light.

no studs in ceiling + constant back and forth movement + added weight = probably not the best of ideas.

fallen light in grow OP = damaged plants + damaged light + possible fire

Unless he can erect some "real" support and not count on wallboard with expansion bolts to hold it up.

alright well after a rough ass afternoon i got it! believe it or not I found 2 studs in the ceiling. I have a lot to patch up but for some reason my stud finder wasn't picking them up. I just started poking holes till I found two and I finally got it hanging. Heres a picture of what it looks like.

Got everything setup and the drip and feed setup is now ready! I will be setting up the DWC setup whenever I get the lowryder seeds. Today marks week 3 of the NL being shipped and now is 100% sure they are taken.

It's starting off pretty well. Roots are coming out of the rockwool in a nice way! Showing signs of a little over watering and haven't watered in about 18 hours, rockwool still wet. It will get it's first hydro feeding tonight in about 4 more hours for 8 minutes.
