My son was stabbed last night

gw, Can you send him to stay with a relative until this blows over? The other thing I'd do is make sure you can get in a window or door of my house without making a shitload of noise. Cameras all over and add motion sensors and bright light to each corner of my house. That way if they are trying to sneak in a window they get illuminated and photoed.

I don't know how it is about guns in the UK but if I could I would be carrying my Mossberg about within the house until things smoothed out. The sound of a pump action is a universally recognized signal of trespass.

PS thinking about the UK and those damn double shot breach loaders! Oh my that would work too, they are a bit intimidating.

Over/Under, or side by side?

I like the old Italian Over/Under breach loader, myself. Has a solid click when locked in, and you can hit both barrels at the same time.

Guns won't solve it. I gave GW a bit of "I'm crazier than you" scare advice, if it gets buggered again, she can follow that, and your lights, camera (Action!) plan!

I would still get a police report on them. They may try to assault you once your son is gone.. or mess up your property.

A stabbing is not something you let slide.

Well Annie here in the UK you get fives years for possession of a firearm, all we have are pellet guns, that's why knife crime is rife here. I've bought a camera system today for outside we already have lights with sensors, unfortunately all our relatives are local and some live in a worse area than we live. But he's being careful I don't trust these people they say one thing and do another so we are all being cautious. x

I know what your saying but being a snitch round here is looked down upon, things are usually settled amongst the families, the police just complicate things and are piss poor at getting things done. We will be cautious and I have now bought a camera system for outside so I will know exactly who's hanging about outside.

how is that considered snitching? The man stabbed your son and slashed his tires!! Are they gonna pay for the damages?

I'll field that one. :-) She lives in an area much like the one I live in. The only times it's OK to call a police are: If someone hit your ride, on the police, or if there's a body, but you still saw nothing. It's called "paying it to the game," or, if Granny wanted to get hood style, she just "collects." But, that requires collectors, and also requires playing the dirty games... Not worth it, unfortunately. So, the rules are thus: She keeps vigil, they keep vigil. If no side flinches, the tension will drop, if one side flinches (calls the cops, cuts and runs, gets caught out alone, etc.) the other side will normally pounce. Since there's a truce, there WILL be taunts, and petty shit, rumors, petty vandalism, name calling at the pub. Can't let it slide, but gotta' match it with kind.

That's Horrible . MOVE.

if you can't call the cops over a stabbing, you need to gtfo.

I don't mind it, but then, I have no love for the cops... Granny, she shouldn't have to play hood games, neither should Sunni. Unfortunately, rules are rules, and this game is for life, get caught cheating, or breaking the rules, and the punishment is really severe ...

I'm so glad I don't live in a bad neighborhood. I would move. Even if it meant having to start all over from scratch.

why should she move? she's not a smack pinning loser willing to knife someone. i'd be tempted to call in some outside help and be in a well lit camera'd place when it happens.

We have moved four years ago to where we are now, we had no choice then my husband went to jail for revenge on a similar incident as this. I refuse to move again and the police are useless its dog eat dog I'm afraid this is my territory I was born and raised here and I will stand my ground. We do have outside help well known people that are feared in this town so the smack heads will be hesitant but minnesmoker is right as long as we stick to the truce nothing serious will happen. And when my son goes to OZ he will be safe.

Did you know that in the US knuckle dusters, switchblades, and stilettos are a felony to own/possess under federal law? Crazy, ain't it! (I just own the knuckles. LoL.)

Granny, I grew up in the hood I moved back to; my childhood home is 2 blocks away. I get supplies from the liquor store that I used to play behind.

Flaming, I understand what you mean, but... It's like this: I don't call the cops, unless a cop is annoying me, and then it's just to be a dick. Someone goes missing, I call a tracker, someone steals my shit, I call a couple Gs and shut down the fences around town, someone shorts me 2 grams, I can deal with it, not get arrested, and not be shorted again. There are "families" in the hood, just like mafia, just like little towns. I know a couple families around here. I also am a family. When the boss lady gets home, and I'm not around, doors get opened for her, things get carried for her. If someone talks to her disrespectfully, it gets swiftly dealt with by the neighbors. We park our cars out back. No one ever touches them. If someone leans on them, they get handled.

It's not as horrible as it sounds. We don't NEED cops. We have a full "justice system" right here. When the heads of families or elders get into it, it gets a bit more touchy, but, we all sit around, smoke weed and discuss what's going on around here.
