Can a low height growroom work?

I have gone ahead and ordered a load of stuff and should be with me in a couple of days! Weather is getting worse here so i'll be calling off my outdoor grow for a while and focusing on my grow room!

go with lowryder or some kind of indica. if its to hard to get a particular strain due to sketchy web site i guess you could just do some uber pruning but leave the colas.

hey i grow i na shed to -- mine is about that size -- im rebuilding soon though (after vacation)

my biggest problem in a shed is heat -- invest in a portable ac unit as a necesity not as something youll get later -- trust me.

Thanks for advice, I will be going with a indica type or lowryder/dwarf type. Veg for 3-5 weeks (until 18" or so) and then flower. During flower then I will try to tie down any strays.

I have 150w blue cfl with a pretty cool reflector for veg,
400w HPS air cooled hood with acoustic ducting and inline fan
Got 8" square pots for lowryders and 10" dia deep pots for the haze and purple powers.
I'll take some photos of when i have the cab finished.

Oh yeah I found out that the green stuff on top of the soil is algae and it developed because I had no ventilation within the tempory cab. I have now just turned the top of the soil and invested in a little two speed desk fan, sorted.
I am am totally convinced indoor is the way to go and I havn't even finished my growroom yet! My little babies love it in this cabinet and they love the cfls off the aergarden.

Lowryder autoflowers so you don't control veg time decreasing light to 12/12 will actually cause a lower yield. Good luck man!

Right I need help again!
Outside temperature at the moment is between 8-12C @ night and 12-20C during day, and this is summer!!! Now it may heat up soon when the weather turns good but still it never really goes above 25C on a good summers day. As you know my growcabinet is in my shed outside...

I have bought a 400w HPS with a cooled inline reflector with a glass screen (like a cooltube but square). I also got a S&P TD-125 197/149cfm fan.
For veg I got a 150W cfl.
I would like to use the heat of the HPS light to slightly heat the cabinet up to around 25C. I could leave one hole on the reflector open and then use the inline fan to pull the air away from the light to allow me to utilise the height but what do I do with the warm air? If I direct it around and back down and disperse out is that going to be too much heat? I know I will have to have a seperate extracter fan at the top and just a couple of vents on the bottom for fresh cool air (which will be outside air which will be usually much cooler than 25C). What size extracters do i need and are there any real quiet ones? Or is there a better way to do this? Please help I think I am confusing myself even more.

Right I hope my babies are gonna really appreciate this!
Cleaned and painted the inside, cut two holes at the back one near the base and one at the top (no exhaust fans though), got the Sunmate and 150W 6400k cfl in and all is looking much neater. There is good air circulation with the little 10w fan.

Couple of questions though:
  • Is the light close enough to the plants?
  • Does anyone know what is happening to the one with yellowing in centre of leaves near stem?
  • I am using a weakish solution of sensi grow (2.5ml per litre), is this enough and how often should I be giving them a feed?
At the moment they have a little catching up to do as I started them outside about 24 days ago and they didn't like it. I hope this setup should be better for them!

Thanks 4 ur help.

I have heard that paint can release fumes toxic to plants for a few days. Never tried it myself but keep your eye on them all the same.

Get a photovoltic sensor switch and an electric baffle from Home Depot then wire it up so at night the baffle redirects so of the hot air back into your grow area.

My plants love it in this cab! Really growing well and starting to smell abit too, never thought i'd be cab sniffin ganja in the shed! I think i put a little too much nutes in the first feed so I have done 2 waters since and next one will be nutes but 1/2 mix.
Newgrowth thanks for help but that sounds a little complicated :-|
I agree that I will run the lights at night for using the heat and maybe have some sorta adjustable vent to allow like 30-40% of the warm air back into grow area. I'll just have to wait and see, I should be starting the new flowercab tomorrow and hopefully over the weekend.
