WHEN YOU ADD NUTES TO YOUR WATER HOW MUCH DOES THE PH OF YOUR WATER DROP?? FOR EXAMPLE: PLAIN WATER = 8.0 ..THEN WATER + NUTES = 6.5 WILL MY PH GO DOWN TO 6.0-lower or STAY IN THE RANGE OF 7.0-6.0,

Im asking becuz I use Earth Juice Grow nutes mixed with water that Ive adjusted from 8.0 to about 7.0, and now my leaves are turning yellow real fast, Im SURE ITS BECAUSE IM MIXING MY VEG nutes WITH WATER THAT I ADJUSTED TO 7.0--so after i mix, correct me if Im wrong, but im guessing my water drops to 6.0-lower, its sux because I dont have a digital meter, I only have the ph tester kit. SO IF ANY KNOWS BY EXPERIENCE HOW MUCH PH DROPS WHEN MIXING VEG NUTES,THAT WOULD BE BLUNT-TASTIC..

yer not gonna get too many replies with posts like that. anyway, add the nutrients first then adjust for pH if necessary. there is no standard amount of drops per gallon of buffer since everyone's starting tap pH is different. consider purchasing a digital pH pen.

the instructions on earth juice say not to adjust PH. it will drift naturally.

you really need to invest in a good ph pen. i recommend the blue lab or milwaukee mw802. dont get the cheap milawukee, they're junk and inaccurate. ph strips and such are not sensitive to use for growing.

read the instructions on the bottle. im pretty sure if i remember correctly mine said not to adjust ph.

They make PH pens to find out. If you're going at hydro without knowing your PH, you're in for plenty of trouble.

For the record, I don't suggest using their recommended serving sizes. Their ratios are good, but, different strains at different times during their life require different ppm/ph numbers, so, during the course of the life, you're balancing things and watching things like a stock chart. The bigger your system, or smaller, can make your numbers stable or bounce all over the place.

Don't try to take the cheap way out either. Strips and drops aren't very accurate. My ph pen told me, my eyeballing was 6.1 when I was aiming for 5.8, you'll need to know.

I finally got sick of doing the pen deal and upgraded to a bluelab guardian monitor. Shows ppm, ph, and temp on a live basis. Spendy toy but, my favorite one in the lab, that's for sure.

But ya, bottom line, you're basically screwed if you don't know your PH or PPM numbers while doing hydro. Good luck.

sounds good. yea i figured it was lowering my ph to much..so im not going to adjust prior before mix
