I've been a smoker for over a decade and for most of that time I was at the mercy of local dealers selling mystery pot, ranging from complete dirt weed to some pretty dank stuff.

This past year I decided if others could grow it I could too and decided to order seeds for my first grow along with some bag seed.

I learned really quickly that good genetics go a looooong way... however, the sheer number of strains to choose from can be overwhelming especially to someone with no prior experience.

I wanted to start this thread to post your favorite strains or any strains you would suggest to other growers be it for potency, strains easy to grow, great high, large yielders.... anything. As long as it's a strain you've tried and think others deserve to give it a shot post the strain, breeder, and your thoughts on the strain here

Grape God by Next Generation. Amazing taste, fairly easy to grow, smells crazy, strong and stony as can be, and an average to above average yeilder.

And the seeds are pretty dialed in. A friend of mine grew out 25 and really didnt have too much difference in the bunch. Few inches in height but all in all consistent.

By the way if you guys have any tips on growing these strains please post. For example whats the peak harvest window? Were they heavy or light feeding strains? Odor problems? Etc... anything you feel would help the next guy when he/she grows it out

Killing Fields.
Damn,I love this plant... KF #5 in my journal has stuck around. This is the kind of smoke everyone loves. Couchy stoners to speedy sativa smokers.
At harvest, the plants wreak of Ruby Red Grapefruit. Nice social high. I just wanna sit around and chat with buddies... Taking a single hit every 30 mins or so to stay lifted.
Great shit...highly recommend.

As far as growth... I'm still learning this one myself. I am about to jump into two gardens full of this stuff. So, by the end of the years I'll know this stuff well..

There are three packs out there right now that I HIGHLY recommend.
- Chimera - Grapefruit x Blueberry aka Sweet Tooth 1.1
- Dr Greenthumb - Bubba OG
- Sannies - Killing Fields

That's the kind of post I was lookin for! You've mentioned killing fields before. At this point You've got me sold. I've never ordered from sannies though. Should I go direct or do they have other distributors?

This lavender variety (KF #4) is the most mellow great weed I have ever smoked... Perfect for the first time or occasional smoker.
It's the kind of weed you could smoke gra'ma up with and she would say something like "Oh, that's nice". Just as clear and pleasant as MJ can be... Not to mention... the flowers are fucking beautiful.
Damn, I regret letting that one go... I want it back.. Great joint weed.

I swore off buying seeds... but if I ever return to it... I will re-explore Chimera GF x BB and Killing Fields. Looking for a Sweet Pink GFruit leaning plant from Chimera and a Lavender soft, mellow smoke from Sannies.
The Sannies pack offers plenty of potent plants (#5).. but there are some clean "light" smokes as well. From looking around, it seems as though the lighter varieties are purple and longer flowering.

Just curious, if you swore off buying seeds how do you keep going?

I've collected mothers over time. It's like king of the hill... if i find something new that is better than the weakest... she steps in and the weakest gets the boot.

I've gotten down to a good number... it was hard.. but i cleared out quite a few recently. I like working from clone. Uniform, monoculture is the way to grow, imo... you get to know the plant and really maximize efficiency.

I've heard good things of GHS Super Lemon Haze. Many bad things about GHS as a whole... but good things about the SLH...

Haze is fucking great...If you know "haze" well enough to identify it... you know that it's one you want to keep around.
I've had many a haze come and go. But, my 9 wk Super Silver Haze keeps me satisfied. The hybrid nature of this plant makes it easy to grow and productive...but there is plenty of haze in there to please that longing for haze..

I haven't really developed a palate for cannabis yet because before I just had random mystery weed, but I'm looking forward to trying new strains. Especially the more pure bred strains. It'd be dope if I could hit a bong and be like "I can taste the haze in there"

Or even flavor notes. I can tell some weed tastes better but I still have a hard time pinpointing flavors.

Please don't think about going down the pot snobbery route. It's pretty lame to see, basically without sugar coating, pot heads, act like they are some snobby wine and cheese tester.
