Be careful with that Bull Elk thing - - tis the season bro.

As for feeling like a douche - don't sweat it, you start delving into past post's & we're all just a little guilty at times.
OH MAN all he has to do is check my posts from like the night before when I was on that sativa binge....

I hope it did not involve his tibio-femoral or patello-femoral articulating surfaces. Those are nasty surgeries and he was very young without sealed plate ends. It could have been bad. I hope he is doing ok today. As an ME student you should take a look at the type of joint the knee is. It's a fascinating bit of engineering.

Whoa! I am gob-smacked and will back down immediately! GOOD JOB! Ok I take it back almost all of it **wink**. You know that is very impressive and shows maturity there. It's so hard to back down when you are young and full of piss and vinegar :) I know, oh do I know! So I apologize for my smack down.

Those last 2 years of an ME are tough. Do the ME's do internships like the young EE's today? My son did his at Silicon Graphics back in the day (he's a Ph.D. EE from Stanford waiting to go IPO now and finish promoting his new book).

I have a few degrees let's say but the one I'm currently slanging for my hash is my MSCS (state school). I'm a software engineer. I just retired 6/1 of this year. My employer, apparently happy with my services, insisted I was not retired and changed me to 'consultant'.

Unfortunately we are having a battle of wills as I say retired they say consultant so far my definition is controlling. I keep stating the 13th amendment and well... it's good to be wanted in this day and age. I know at the end all I hired was Ph.D's (you can imagine the shenanigans as they pressed to test the less educated female engineer! So yeah I apologize for transferring that onto you!), but the point of that was you may need to stay in school. That is a good strategy right up until then end of your first post-doc. Then you must stop and work for at least a couple years LOL!

Trust me on that..... I looked at school as end point not way station LOL! Welcome to RIU. It's good to meet you.
Some schools offer internships but PSU doesn't to my knowledge. I already have a small internship set up at Vestas, a green energy company. We will have to see where that takes me;)

My first semester I was majoring in SE but I was dumbfounded and WAY in over my head so I switched majors. Thats great you made a career of it! I give you kudos for that!!!

Congrats on retiring, well kind of retiring! You know if you retire and your company fights to keep you as a consultant, it means your a valued, hard working individual! I am probably going to end up back in school with some jobs and internships mixed in here and there. Even with a degree, you can't count on having a great career waiting for you.

I keep catching myself thinking once I finish my 2 years I will be set, but really that's only half the battle.

Its good to meet you too and I am very glad we straightened this all out!

The fracture started right above his tibio-femoral articulating surface. He went through 5 surgeries, two just to fix the fracture, one to shave down a calcium deposit that formed on his tibio femoral joint, and two in order to take out the plate and screws. He is fine now, never complains of pain; he just walks stiff legged now and for whatever reason that leg is about an inch longer that it was before the accident.

Sweetie did you read what you just posted. Ok here's the levels of fail I have time, and interest enough, to parse:
(1) The next time your friend 'snaps' his femur (btw was it distal or proximal?), I adjure you to take him to a hospital instead of a courtroom.
(2) You ate a medible 6 hours prior to a court hearing demonstrating:
(a) Lack of knowledge of medibles
(b) Lack of insight into serious nature of a court appearance
(c) Compounded this by becoming obstreperous with a judge
(d) Still displaying any lack of maturity by not accepting responsibility for aforementioned behavior
(3) You assume because you are in school you have the degree (don't count your chickens until they hatch especially with such an execrable command of english)
(4) You sadly assume I have less earning ability
(5) This last post. A tragic illustration of what passes for education today

I opine the lack of education that someone who hopes to attain a mere BSME displays. Please don't tell us the name of your school and embarrass them further.

We have fun here....Ive been there too she has, Webster in head!!!

Hon, we are like this because we're programmed that way from conception.
It ain't really dirty, it's what's in most men's minds when we're not thinking of fishing and hunting.

A soulmate that likes the outdoors ~And~ likes to play is a huge plus.
