Note to self thread

Note to self, don't go to traffic court stoned. The judge will make you look like a retard in front of an entire court room.
Because most professionals do not like teenage drama. You don't treat the guy in the black dress like he's stupid. You just failed an intelligence test. Worse I'll bet mommy and daddy paid the fine so you didn't even learn the lesson, sigh.

Oh yeah how old are you?
Thing is, if you went to court stoned in the first place, it most likely didn't take the judge to make you look like a retard.

Sweetie did you read what you just posted. Ok here's the levels of fail I have time, and interest enough, to parse:
(1) The next time your friend 'snaps' his femur (btw was it distal or proximal?), I adjure you to take him to a hospital instead of a courtroom.
(2) You ate a medible 6 hours prior to a court hearing demonstrating:
(a) Lack of knowledge of medibles
(b) Lack of insight into serious nature of a court appearance
(c) Compounded this by becoming obstreperous with a judge
(d) Still displaying any lack of maturity by not accepting responsibility for aforementioned behavior
(4) You assume because you are in school you have the degree (don't count your chickens until they hatch especially with such an execrable command of english)
(5) You sadly assume I have less earning ability
(6) This last post. A tragic illustration of what passes for education today

I opine the lack of education that someone who hopes to attain a mere BSME displays. Please don't tell us the name of your school and embarrass them further.
SOOOOO much of that is sig worthy C2G.

It wasn't teenage drama, my friend was ran over and had his femur snapped. I didn't treat him like he was stupid, I made the mistake of eating a brownie like 6 hours before. What intelligence test did I fail again? I have been working full time jobs since I was 15, I paid for everything. I am working full time and I'm halfway to having a bachelors in mechanical engineering. Haha, it's so funny some of the stuff people assume! I'm 20 and in 5 years I'm going to be worth more than every paycheck you've ever earned in your whole life:) so enjoy living paycheck to paycheck, or maybe grow to grow.

It was a distal compound fracture, the first thing I did was call 911. The only reason we went to court was because the man who ran him over didn't even remember hitting him and called a lawyer to get out of paying for my buddies surgery and rehabilitation.

As for the medibles, I did show a lack of knowledge, a lack of insight of the seriousness of court, and a lack of maturity, but I was fresh out of middle school and I was an idiot to say the least. Please don't let my dumb past choices reflect how I am now. If we all did that, everyone would be seen as a moron.

Im not assuming I have the degree, I still have two years left and then I need to find a good job where my skills and degree are applicable.

I will admit I was wrong for assuming you have a lesser earning ability than someone with a BSME, I don't know you. You know, I wouldn't have been such a dick about this whole thing if you weren't like every other person above the age of 30( another assumption). You all assume that younger people lack ambition and a will to learn and better their lives. This may be true for many, but I came from a family where my parents stressed education and pushed me to be better than them, and to pursue what I want. You can call me dumb all day long because honestly, people like you are my motivation.

Oh and I'm going to PSU in Portland,Oregon, transfer from CSU in Ft Collins, CO. I'm shooting for the top of my class just like I did in High School.

So curious, I'm just curious(no pun intended), what your day job?

~ Half way to a bachelors ~

I guess we've been schooled by an educated individual. :???:

Thanks bro, I hate being wrong, but I will admit it when I'm being a jackass. If only there was a way to calm myself down and not overreact like an elk in rut getting challenged...

But in all seriousness, I feel like such a douche.
All well, life goes on.

That's OK dude.
I think there are times when many of us wished our keyboards had a breathalyzer on it in hindsight.
I apologize as well, I'm just not used to seeing comments like that directed towards C2G......
She's just way too cool and doesn't deserve it.

No kidding! Someone should invent that! Or a keyboard with a 10 minute delay before it post something so when you are having a bad day it gives you time to cool off and not say something regrettable.
I just felt like it was a personal attack from her, which I understand it wasn't. It's not going to happen again because honestly, nobody deserves that. Sorry Curious2Garden! :peace:

I know man, phones need it too!
Many a morning I used to get up and have to check my phone to see who and what I had texted the night before.
Often I would find I had called old friends from before I moved, since they are 3 hours behind me, and I know it was a good time to chat, even though it was late for me.

lol, consider yourself lucky. It was only a minor offense. I think she enjoyed the chance to sharpen her castigative proficiency.

If it had been a major offense you would likely already be dead.

I hope it did not involve his tibio-femoral or patello-femoral articulating surfaces. Those are nasty surgeries and he was very young without sealed plate ends. It could have been bad. I hope he is doing ok today. As an ME student you should take a look at the type of joint the knee is. It's a fascinating bit of engineering.

Whoa! I am gob-smacked and will back down immediately! GOOD JOB! Ok I take it back almost all of it **wink**. You know that is very impressive and shows maturity there. It's so hard to back down when you are young and full of piss and vinegar :) I know, oh do I know! So I apologize for my smack down.

Those last 2 years of an ME are tough. Do the ME's do internships like the young EE's today? I'm a software engineer. Welcome to RIU. It's good to meet you.
