vacpurge

funny, I ran my pump for 5 minutes last night, got to full vac, woke up, and my shit was fully vac purged.
the pump sounded the exact same when sucking on the chamber, or sucking on the ball valve after I closed it... nothing!
when I woke up, I ran the pump, let it suck on the empty line and the closed ball valve for a bit. observed its sound... open the ball valve and pay close attention to the sound because if there was any degassing overnight, and it lost even 1 or 2% vacuum, the already running pump would now be making a different sound until its reached max vac again... as well as the gauge might move, which mine doesnt. maybe I just need a fancy expensive accurate one.
I dont know...maybe im stoned, but it kind of reminds me of a snow plow... you can only plow so much snow until youve got a mountain in front of you and youre just sitting there spinning the tires forever. one youre at max vac its max vac. plain and simple. the degassing rate after the few first minutes is nowhere near the same as what the pump is sucking therefore major major overkill. especially if youve purged it somewhat properly to begin with before chamber.... ive seen how much butane is in some of your oils when going into the chamber...crazy!!! I boil 98% of the butane off outside and vac chamber for the other 2%.. ive seen videos on youtube and pics here of butane that looks like 25% butane weight, now that stuff would require a running pump for the first few minutes id imagine. but overnight or 36 hours... thats just asking for trouble. too much risk, no reward. fuck that.
not saying whats right or wrong, just some food for thought for the new guys that are reading this.
