When is it possible to tell gender?

I'm on my 4th day of flowering, only the 4th day. And already there are tiny leaves growing in between the nodes. (see picture)

Is this a gender fact or is it just new leaves or something? Should I be able to tell gender in the 4th day of flowering?

I want to find out if this is a male as soon as possible so I can kill it and grow another.

its just 2 tiny thin leafs growing on the nodes. I read a litte about them. Someone said its a male preflower. Someone else said its a female that hasnt shot out its pistils yet. I guess the only thing to do now is to just wait a week or so to tell.

You can not be 100% sure. I am on my 8th day of flowering and still can't 100% say what gender they are. It can take anywhere from a couple of days to 2 weeks. On my last grow it took 13 days. Feels like an eternity! Remember that males show their sex first, then females a little later. Here is a good link that I still use today. Good luck!
