Someone mentioned that it might be a low pressure sodium lamp I'm using. Do you know how you can tell between a high and low pressure sodium lamp? Is there a way of telling?

If it is a low pressure lamp, can I simply buy a different bulb or are the couplings completely different?

Anyway, it's certainly a better lamp than the CFL. Take a look at this pic I just took...

Hello people. My plants have gone mental. The HPS lamp has done wonders since being fitted. I also just switched on my original Envirolite lamp on too- just to give it some extra light (can't hurt, can it). Here's a pic illustrating 24hrs of growth....

Hello everyone.

My grow is in my spare room. It only really gets used for storage.

My novel way of alleviating my wifes fears on the amount of electric we use (coz of my grow), was to install a washing line in the room =) Now the washing gets dry in the warmth of the room, thus saving money on running the tumble dryer =)

Ok, so it stinks a bit of weed. That's the downside! lmao!

From 8.30PM GMT, I'm starting the flowering cycle (12hrs on, 12hrs off). I wanted to time it for a vacation we're having in October, but can't wait any more. The buggers have gotten too big- and I'm aware that they can quadruple in size during flowering.

Here goes! Last pic during vegging phase.....

I will, of course, keep you posted with regular updates and photo's. It'd be a dream if all 4 were ladies!

Your comments are ALWAYS welcome in my journals.

Peace.

I miss tending to my babies. Now that they're on 12/12 for flowering, the lights go out at 8.30pm and I don't get home from work until 10.30pm. I've gotta wait until the morning to see them now, which sucks. It's funny how tending to them has formed part of my evening routine.

As I mentioned in my last post, I've put my babies on a 12/12 flowering light cycle. Well, this morning I checked on them (I've not seen them for 24hrs). They've shot up. I think they're gonna be BIG! Here's a few pics.

Remember, your comments are always welcome!

..and another..

..and finally...

As you can see, the 'runt' plant (front right) has certainly perked up since the introduction of the HPS lamp =)

I'm now using the HPS lamp AND my 200Watt 6,400K Envirolite lamp with reflector. My plants love lamp(s)!! In case you're not familiar with the Envirolite range, here's a pic....

And here's the tallest plant out of her den. I'm a little bit worried about this one - its height is indicative that it's a male. We'll see.

Still no signs of sex yet. It's early days.

Comments welcome as usual.

Nice grow, your plants are just a wee bit younger than mine but already flowering. I'm planning on switching from 18/6 to 12/12 some time next week. I'm waiting for the first one to reach a little over 24" (609mm).

It's nice to see someone just ahead of my plants, that way I now what to expect.

Hey Cadenza. I put a CD in there for perspective purposes. It gives you a greater appreciation of the size of the plants. When I did that, I realised that they reflected light back up, so thought that can't be a bad thing!

2ft! Blimey RandyRocket! I didn't want to start flowering so early, like I have done, but I was worried that they'd get too big. I understand that they can quadruple in size when flowering! You might be looking at 8ft monsters if you wait until the tallest is 24"! Would make nice bud though!

Thanks for your comments people! Some pics to follow this entry. I think I have some GOOD news!!!!!!!

The tallest plant (front left in the pics in this journal) is showing early signs of being a female :) ......

And the plant at the back right is definitely a lady!!!!!!!!! ....

Here's another shot. Taken from under the canopy..

Afternoon people.

I have a question...

One of my plants is by far taller than the others. It grows faster each day.

Trouble is, the taller it gets, the higher I have to put the lamps. The higher I put the lamps, the further away it is from the other 3 plants.

Is there anything I can do to the tall plant? Perhaps pruning it or something??

I'd appreciate your help people.

Here's a pic.....

I put blocks of wood 2x4's under the short ones. You could use books.
