Just when I think I am ready to purchase light system, I learn more!

I was planning on getting a 600 watt HPS/MH ballast light system. Now after reading about UV lighting, I am thinking of going 400 watt HPS/MH and add [h=1]Mega-Ray ZOO SB 160 watt Self-Ballasted Flood UVB Lamp[/h]
I am more into quality over quantity. I think they will produce a better potency overall with this set up together.

I agree.

If you have the ability to control environment and read your plants then spending extra is pointless.

If you really want to mess around with UVB etc then get the 600w system you planned and find yourself a 10,000k bulb for the final 10days of flowering to increase resin production.

Personally I only use hps.

Spending extra? It is only 75.00 and I understand resin production is naturally increased with UVB light. I do respect everyone's input. When you say 10000k bulb, do you mean LED or? Thank you!

10,000k - colour temp. Mainly only MH bulbs available in that kalvin colour.

Its just a lamp to change over at the end of your cycle.

One must make sure the bulb puts out UV in the first place. I noticed my 1000w Hortilux mh daylight blue puts out some uv, but the 400w blue did not. 1000w sunleaves optilume hps puts out none. Digilux MH puts out none. Eye 400w MH puts out none. Do your research...

So I did some research on UVB bulbs and I noticed a lot of them, especially the High Output ones, have UVA as well. Is this a good thing? I thought too much UVA was bad.....the reason I ask is because most of the threads I have read on using UVB lights put them very close to the plants.......is that correct? wouldn't that hurt the plant? or am I way off on this info?

Edit: Do all UVB bulbs have UVA? that makes sense....

Get your grow dialed in,then you'll be ready to start adding
things and be able to tell if it helps you. I did some reading on the uvb
& there's a lot to be said, don't know if I even want to try it.
