Basement grow setup advice/help needed.

Hey I have a basement it is 32'x11 but seem to to much I just want to use the part closest the the stairs and that is about 12'x11.
I have two 600 watts hps. Do I need more light for that area is my first question.
My next question is how can I maximize yield. I was think straight auto's lights on 24/7 in 2 gallon smart pots. Smart pots are 9" by 9" so in 10 by 10 feet I should be able to fit 81 plants with space inbetween.
Can I get some ideas on what I should do ?

How much bud are you looking to produce? I would suggest a single light setup for your first grow at least to learn what you're doing.

This is not my first grow I have grown I just have not grown more then 10 at a time I used my 600 watt hps in my 4x4 with my 6can fan to keep temp in 80 and my room is very cool. I just want to move grow out of my room to my basement and do a larger scale. I want to produce at least 1 pound dry. I do have a max fan 8" a 6" can fan with carbon and also a 4" inline with carbon.

your numbers are way off

u are counting as the plant just going to stay inside the pot diamentions............it is going to get big the strain will tell u how big..............i run on the rule most plants need 1.5 sqaure feet to bush out ..the higher yeild strains i go 2 square feet .........u have the room i say pick a few strains and grow 6 at a time this way u have room as the bush out u get a idea of what they are and find the strains u like and then do the real planning (leave room for u to walk and a way to water the plants )

as for light ..u are at the maximum of your lights in area getting something else to add in will only increase the dence and the growth (since u have the 600watts may i say look in some 4 foot T5s for your side walls (4ft tubes put out 5000 lumens each and they offer 5 choices including 10000k+uva )

Ok kool, thanks. I been thinking of add ng two more 600 watters not sure yet going to price out and invested in a co2 gen. Ya maybe I should cut down number and think about a walk area I just don't think autos will branch out that much but I have not grown that auto yet so idk. I might just go with my white widow auto since I know don't branch, that just cost a little more in seeds. But yes thanks I will do some recalculations and be back to u with numbers.

autos are not the same beast anymore .........the new gentics strains they are comming out with are high yeild and high thc

and u are under HIDs under T5's only it is nothing but HIDs oh my god they go

For some reason the autos white widow didn't get that big I think buckets was just to much but idk.
Sour D, OG Kush, Green poison and White widow about to be 4 week in flowering

With the space you've got why are you doing autos? To me it seems pointless as you've got room for a photo strain which you'll get a real yield off of. I could see if you didn't have adequate space to house them but you have enough

if u go by the numbers autoflowering plants make the most sence and get u the most bang for the buck

a photo plant u can do a good run in what 6 months shortest 3 to grow 3 to flower .............and then u have to keep it tight about light and amount of time

a auto grow u can be done in 70 days with a OZ a plant atleast more now with other strains (biodiesel mass is up too 400 grams 17% THC ) in 70 to 85 days ............i remove the light factor and given u do not need to fallow the 12 on 12 off u can do 20 on getting more grow time

i done 3 grows cfl t5 and now HID .........HID on autos rock that trans is 20.4% thc and about 2 oz off the plant
and this has been with in 6 months of time doing it ................i have done 5 different strains (that has been limited do to the money issuse for buying seeds 100 bucks for 12 ) ...... in one years time i will have more output of different strains then u would using photo (this is assuming same space and set up )

nice man .................since u are moving to a bigger area u really should looking into SCRoGing method and topping..............i done some topping with nice results have not done the Scrog yet but from the look of this biodiesel i have a plant i can learn on ( only thing about scrog u need to account for a method of Flushing and removing the water since u can not move the plants in the screen)

Thanks I would but honestly I going to be to busy to fix everything right for scroging and I honestly don't know how tried but was a epic fail, I just trying to grow thus why I going to such a high number of plants to try get good yield.
I got the co2 gen today got a C.A.P. GEN-1 Natural Gas, CO2 Generator, Electronic Ignition for 100 bucks was a deal and brand new lol.
By my next two paycheck I should be able to get two more sun system 600watters then I will start the setup for basement once tent grow is finish.
Ya I could do photo but I just don't wanr to clone nor do I want too have two separate (veg, bloom) room doing one room is hard enough so all autos for me 24/7 light I just keeping it simple maybe 20/4. Light bill ain't a problem that why I have a 9 to 5 + on call.

Still taking suggestions, and comments on best approach

get some 5 gallon soil air bags
get a shit load of fox farms ocean forest soil
pick a good full line of nurtients
pick some good seeds (u want alot then pick some strains with 400 grams u can safe figure 1/4 to 1/2 lb of each once u know the strain 1 lb of each plant)
(sounds like u have the cash pick a automatic watering system drip system )

under HID lights my plants are takening atleast 32 oz of water each aday 24/32 hours (i know u think it is over watering i did too i checked with soil probe wet go to sleep check after the shower dry+) and now the 7 gallon ones are up to half a gallon a day ...................just grow like 6 or 8 high yeild plants otherwise u are going to get over your head with them and work (mixing up each watering for each plant giving it to the plant then looking at them to make sure all ok and then checking if anything is wrong on here ) it could be 2 3 hours a day with more then just half dozen

Ya k.i.s.s method lol. U would do drip system but I use organic nuts and have just started in brewing teas and it is going really good in getting a better brix level for plants. I am still concerned about plant space amount of plants and pot size. Soil I use is promix mixed in with some anicent forest.

You could try a perpetual grow, I have the exact same space available as you, here is what I was going to do:

build 2 separate rooms. You could do that by making 1 room with a wall or 2 separate rooms, The big one is 10x10, the little one can be whatever size, I was going to have a 4x10 room, and attach it to the other one.

In your little one, start growing your plant from seed, I'm getting C99, Ken Estes GDP, and Bubba Kush, gonna throw a COUPLE autopounders in, to dial in the bloom room. When you have the seedlings big enough to clone, take a few, put them in the other room. Eventually over time, your mother plant is gonna fill that 10x10 room by scrogging it, and constantly taking clones she will be really fat, when you take your last clones you can flip the mother room and have the grow room veg out the clones to keep the strain, or get some new seeds. by taking clones, you will get a small yield every couple weeks (when the first one matures, you will already have several that are behind it, about ready to mature) you will need more than the 2 lights you were doing, I was going LED so I can't help you there.

i would kill for that much space, please dont waste it on auto's. Build a cloning/mother room and run some sort of SoG or put a veg room in with the cloning/mothers and grow monsters.

You guys are right and in the long run would be cheaper then keep buying auto seeds. Ok I guess I am convinced I will get a cloner. But one questions then what size pot should I use ? Can I do clone, straight to 12/12 or do I have to veg ?

Should I just use 1 gallon air pots (I think would be ok ). I know I would just lollipop them focus on one main cola. But that is my biggest concern can I go from clone straight to 12/12 and if I have to veg what about next batch I will be getting they need to veg too so how am I going to do that ? Example I take clone from mother the go in different room veg by time they go 12/12 mother has new clones to take those will need to veg as well they can't go in 12/12.

what i was told is the mother plant is good for 3 rounds of clones after that u let her flower and replace her with a clone to mother up

1 gallon soil pot is only good for 1 month of growth after that the plant will need u to feed her

and the ppl are wrong mother and cloning is only profitable if u have a area the size of a 30x30x10 ..............the amount of time and effect to do it and the extra gear ........auto plants are the best choice ( once u find your strain u can make one plant go to seed and have your own supply)

photo break down ...........1 rooms needed/ 3 sets of lights/ 3 tents mother/veggie-clone/flower (i say tents since light leaking is a issuse and they are sealed) /more feed and chemicals needed/the cloning machines /the 12/12 flower time u have to go longer 8 to 10 weeks

auto break down............1 room /1 set of lights /light leak is not a issuse/they natural like little less feed /u can run a 20/4 timing and that is 8 hours more light a day for flowering ........and the big one the whole thing is done and u have sold move to next set as photo are just finishing and still need a dry and cure

anyone that tell u autos are crap have not growen one of the new strains (do the math work out on paper yourself ) photos cost more in the long run to make then autos .....engery and time so to make your money back/profit u have to charge more then what i do ..........so i will always be cash flush before u are since i am done before u and i can keep the prices much lower ...................this is just strait logical math...........(techinally i only need to charge 90 bucks a OZ to make the cost back for one plant if the plant makes several OZ my profit marge is huge )

when i have cut my plant and dried it for 7 days u have to do flower cycle for 13 more days to equal the same amount of light i had on my plants ...20 days to make up 240 hours in a 30 days period

And your correct that the same thing I was thinking. With photo I would have to have a more strict regiment which I am not that good on already. That why my first ideas is autos I got to keep it simple. I have not really done the whole math out yet. But ya I couldn't do photo. Auto would just b easier, simpler and more profitable in that 2 month time span then photo.
Thanks justugh I really got to clear my head and think about shit. My time is running out. So it is set in stone I going to do autos, 2 gal superoot airpots. Just got to pick up 2 more 600 watters.
