What's the bullshit factor on seed bank yield claims?

I know the seed bank yield claims are based on perfect conditions with expert growers. About what can the average grower expect for a yield compared to what the seed banks say? Half?

its a lowball yield usually if you were to do nothing but grow the plant no lst topping super cropping just sog let it grow


some of them really ARE just exaggerated
but most are easily beaten IMO

Inside, outside, hydro, dirt, topping, Lst'ing, sog, how you prune, all are factors. To pick a strain and try to guess yield, never accurate. Figure out which strain or strains are best for you and then figure out how to maximize your yields through different growing techniques. Imo...

I feel like the numbers depend more on the style of growing thats best for the plant.

So if someone always does SOGs and tries using a strain that doesnt do well in that style of growing, its not the seed companies fault for that strain not fitting the growers style and expectations.

Same as someone who uses sativa dom hybrids and grows until theyre a foot or 2 tall and then flowers them because they triple in the stretch transition. If they used an indica dom that barely doubles in size theyll get significantly less yield than expected/claimed.

An average grower can get the maximum out of a seed with the right nutes and grow tek. Many people are unwilling to change styles so that can be why the numbers get hated on.

Now a days, seed companies usually specify what type of training certain plants like and dont like.

And besides all that it also matters how much light you can distribute evenly without it being inconvenient

Those numbers are for sog and per square meter of grow space..

I never look at those numbers or the THC % numbers .. ever..
I'd rather have a small amount of very good bud, then lots of crappy bud any day..

Truth! i always stick to grow journals to help me decide.

If only thc test facilities were everywhere and cheap so we could take away the marketing schemes of seed companies.

Yep, the systems to test the THC content are pretty costly to purchase, require gas re-supplies in some instances; and ability to analyze the data and interpret it from the output. It basically breaks down the sample with temperatures ect, and analyses the trace elemental contents that way. I was slightly interested in it until I got more info and watched a few tests being ran not related to cannabis. Not lamens tool to analyze thc content, too bad there isn't a more effective way for the average consumer to test THC content accurately, could probably make a bit of business off selling reputable tests that were perhaps disposable in some manner, although the technology may not even be realistic given the current method of analyzing it, and the system it requires.
