help!!

Hi every one new to this. Just started first attempt. Clusterbomb seed. About 2.5 inches tall. Good air circulation under 192 watt of cfl 6500. Foxfarm mix and watering with distilled rain water. About 12 days Old. And woke up to the top leaves with yellow spots and edges. Any suggestions?

Ok noob, standard procedure: how close are the lights to the plant? What are your temps in the room? Pictures are worth a thousand words! Yada, yada, yada...

Lights are about 4 inches away right now. They were closer though. Room temp usually sits about 68 to 73 degrees. I wish i could get a pic I've been trying

if your talking about fox farm ocean forest soil, it is pretty hot to start out with. i've used it myself for seeds with success but you may want to try a seed starting or pro mix next time. fox farm light warrior is better for seeds/clones. i prefer sunshine pro mix #4 for all stages of growth except i prefer cloning in aero.

also try and get your temps more like 75-80 if possible.

i dont have a lot of experience with CFLs besides using them for clones and supplemental in flower but maybe it's too much light. could be too much heat too if it's close to the light and not getting enough air flow but you say you have good air circulation. im not really sure if you can burn seedlings or not with CFLs. i know if it's touching it it will. thats also a pretty high wattage CFL though. i would eventually probably just switch to a 400w hps with a cool tube and high velocity fan. the heat will help keep your temps in check being as cool as it is.

also being that high watt of a CFL, if you were to raise it about a foot away you should still get decent growth and be able to run a test of how close you can have it. you may even want to have a fan blowing directly on the light. i know CFLs are pretty cool burning but 192 watts is pretty high.

another problem i forgot to mention is make sure your not over watering. that will yellow leaves. im not sure what your using for pots or cups but if say the cup size was 16 oz, i would probably only water about 4 oz depending on the size of the plant and root mass. dont water again until it's significantly lighter in weight but not to the point of the plant drooping. i try to get it down to watering every 2 days. if they're still wet then too much water. your room temps will change this though to an extent.

Ok thank you yeah it's multiple bulbs providing all the wattage. I moved the light up. I think it may be over watering because someone said try watering it so i did and instead of 2 small yellow dots it spread to multiple leaves.
