Crate cab grow set up!

Hey guys, first time grower here and i was instantly drawn into the world of micro growing. i have 2 other room mates who would most not care if i grew, but i wanted to do it as stealthy as possible, so im repurposing an old crate cab that i have laying around. Right now it is pretty bare bones, i was mainly wondering about ways to incorporate fans while still keeping the look pretty stealthy. Also, in keeping the integrity of the cab, would keeping the actual speakers in themselves take away too much space?

I had planned on gutting the inside and fabricating a back wall to cover the holes, then paint the inside white, or possibly covering in mylar.

Here is the grow room shell i plan on using.

I would appreciate all the suggestions you guys have to offer!

That'll definitely work, but I'd take the speakers out and make use of the whole space. Go buy a piece of plywood to fit as the rear panel and cut out some vent holes for intake/exhaust, intake at the bottom/middle, exhaust at the top - that's what I did and it works great!

nice looking box, I used to have one similar that I would actually stash my "contraband" in haha. but yeah like BygonEra said; you should take the speakers out and make sure to paint the plywood that you use to cover the holes. What are the dimensions? My old crate was about 36x36x 14?" roughly.... if it's the same size you should be able to rig a few good CFL's but to keep it ventilated from the interior is going to be tough. I would recommend scavenging a ton of computer fans and mounting them on the rear and sides of the box but you are going to need at least six. I'm messing around with my first cab right now too. I have worked in HVAC for over 10 years so if you have any ventilation questions let me know dude.

I just finished painting the box so now i am going to begin working on mounting my lights and fans. As you can see, there are already 3 holes naturally in the cab. I was mainly wondering if i can use these holes to my benefit by using them as a slot for exaushting, or perhaps setting up a carbon filter.

I know i need to cut a a spot out around the botom for a proper exauhst, i just don't want to ruin the cab by cutting away a piece i didn't need to.

here is a rack of lights that i am rigging up. so far i only have the one,but i am open to adding additional lighting.

So far I am using 6 19 watt bulbs. The bulbs emit the 5k per sqft of lumens that I need, so I figured that would be acceptable.

I switched out the 19 watts for some 23's and drilled some holes on the bottom for a passive intake, i plan on mounting 2 fans in 1 of the holes left from the grips and then mount 2 more interior fans.

I have done some research and have been leaning towards using scrog for this box. Thinking of setting up a hook system to string together some fishing line in order to make my net. not sure how much space to leave between the net and the lights however.

I plan on remounting the lights to the top of the box, i would love to hear any feedback or new suggestions.

once again the dimensions are 25"x25"x12"

Looking really nice to see the ingenuity of the folks on here (including yourself) is a cool thing..I think it's a good idea if you're able to put the lights at the top (more room for you to grow). When we want to grow/toke we are so creative...Looking forward when you pop them beans..Peace:joint::joint:

looking nice. you might want the exhaust on the top or near the lights for better ventilation though
