@Guzias, Jump is bio-chemist that lives across the big lake, mostly known for creating what is known as AA, or ”Absolute Amber.”
When you extract, the oleoresin is known as a ” concrete”, after the winterization is completed the concrete is now known as an” absolute”

These terms are common in the perfume and ” scent producers” i.e. Air-wick etc.

Bought to drop some links..
Read this from page #1..And bask on theed beauty of Absolute Amber

I'm fairly sure Gunna-know steps into the thread a few pages in.

Gunna, too, may be a chemist, I'm not sure on that..but he he taught me a lot as well
Again read from beginning, these are the threads that taught me a large majority of what I retain today.

I would highly suggest reading on ICmag. some very very intelligent members there with some seriously delicious projects going on. you see those jars of oil??!?!?! damnn

Sorry vp didn't even click your link..

Did you post the” BHO for dummies” thread too?..or just Absolute Amber from banana silver lady-boys?

heres jump, not sure who the other guy is:

jump is one of the ones I believe that posted that quote I posted a while ago about wax being bad, and about shatter being the preferred texture of BHO... a lot of people thought I was an idiot. little did they know it was JUMPs quote.... SMH

I would also recommend doing some reading at icmag... tons of geniuses over there that will set ya straight in the BHO world... I dont know why I dont spend more time over there....
i'm ready to make the move haha, i can only handle one forum at a time though

Gold is where you find it and IC Mag does have a good concentrates section, but I see things on this forum, that haven't appeared at ICM. Even though I'm a mentor on that site, I still frequent 12 other sites, including this one, to keep track of what new stuff is emerging.

Most of the time I just scroll through, to see whats new on forums with limited concentrate interest, but sometimes a jewel lies waiting.

Don't sell RIU short. I wouldn't be here, if there weren't kindred spirits and bright minds sharing new information that hasn't appeared on ICM yet.

I found it somewhat annoying to have to sort through bickering on threads to get to the actual educational info I was looking for.

So ratio guys still 10/1 so if I have 5 grams of oil 50 ml/cc of everclear I just kinda pour what I think.is right but would like to be a little more conservative with my everclear its a 3 hour trip for the stuff

Alright chewberto is going winterized.

My vac chamber was in the garage while doing a week long Batch, and stopped holding full vac maybe the cold and the rubber ring aroun the lid?

My Firestomper OG batches are questionable. There isn't any spark but a tiny bit of cracke on one pheno specific batch, so I just mixed all FSOG batches together and going to winterized 6 grams of sugar flakes.

Few questions? What temp should the everclear be before adding the flake to dissolve?
after 24 hours I will filter in a mason jar with a coffe filter threaded on it like I saw a picture of on a thread here mouth to mouth jars duct taped together? All while filtering in freezer, Tell me if this is ok?

also removing the filtered oil afterwards? Straight on parchment or oil slick for some slight thin film purging? I want to keep the lowest temps possible to retain this beautiful terpene profile guys! What I'm gonna do?

I am probably being paranoid, but whatever, I need to expand my tech anyway.

personally:

i warm up everclear to about 85-90F and use a skewer to swirl/dissolve the wax . takes a minute or two.
after oil is for sure dissolved (liquid should be nice and clear, not chunky)
once dissolved, i then add some cold everclear to instantly chill the temps..

then freeze to perform separation..

filtering can take place how ever you please. but be sure to keep temps nice and cold while filtering.
now, once youve got nice clean winterized oil juice. your best bet is to pour it onto pyrex..(never tried oil slick pad) but something happens when you pour it onto parchment.. ive burnt holes through my Parchment with alcohol. so now i refrain from that.

i think pyrex pie dishes are the best for scraping.. good luck!

Huh, that's crazy. So you put in a Pyrex, from the frozen liquid state after filtration? How do you purge the remaining liquid and scrape up? What temp should I vac at, 110 like normal?

haha, its fucken crazy!!!!

it aint too bad, pretty simple, and i bet more simple than you can imagine..

yes, you got it right, after frozen filtered stuff is collected.

you now only have to get rid of the everclear, and you will be left with absolute oil. yummies..

so, now you need to remove everclear right?

you can go a number of ways doing this.

everclear evaporates quite fast, especially with some wind, and a tad bit of heat.

so, if you went this route. you could pour liquid into pyrex, then (i would cover pyrex with screen/dust filter so no debris fall into new fresh oil.. ) place a fan blowing right over the opening of pyrex.. (pyrex should be on level surface)
the act of wind moving over the plate will give you a full enough purge(alcohol just evaporates right out).. now the time that takes depends on if you add heat to the fan, or if you are trying to do it where humidity is high, and the thickness of oil.. (larger batches require some more time, work)

that is the simple easy terp retained route..

you could also try vacuuming off all the everclear at room temp or colder temps, ---i find this way to be pretty hard and dirty IMO. (oil splashes everywhere)

i prefer to let the everclear mostly evaporate till i am left with a goooey sludge i can scrape up onto some parchment..

once on parchment, i get temps to about 100F, and vacuuuuuuum away..
