I just finished my first transplant ever; it went absoulutely horrible... I dont think it is possible for it to have gone worse :-?. its now in the new pot, watered, and under its normal environment.

Basically for me to get the plant out, I had to scoop it out and go through some of the bottom roots, there wasnt any avoiding that, it was as if they were glued to the bottom of the pot, they would not budge at all, no matter what. I pulled out quite a few roots from what had been ripped.

What I want to know, is have you ever killed a plant transplanting? do you think mine will die? or just take a bit longer than usuall to recover?

I know those roots wont ever recover, but it was only the roots at the very bottom near the drain holes that were ripped, 1 root "system" containing many sub roots, and a few other roots.

I transplanted at Day 10 since it had sprouted from the soil. It had just started branching off.

i should be fine. i often tear my roots open when transplanting. i rake my fingers down the sides and bottom to open up all the roots. i've never killed a plant transplanting.
