Anyone have any real knowlege with suboxon ???

Im currently going through detox & trying this out, day 1. I went through methodone juice back in early 80's to get off heroin, & now trying to get off fentynal patches & Norco 10's. I have over the past 20 yrs jumped my habit to 2 100mg patches & anywhere from 40 to 100 norcos or perks a day. Is this suboxn going to work, & how can I make it work better ??? They r giving me a 10mg, & 2 2mg strips..

An 8mg and 2 2mg strips? They don't make 10mg strips.
I don't think 12mg/day will hold you if you've been doing 2 100ug/h patches a day. Try it and adjust up. Wait until you've been sick for a few hours to take the first dose or it can make it worse. If it does work try to taper down to less than 8mg/day ASAP as the side effects get much worse with higher doses.

Yes my mistake 8mg & 2 2's actually its not too bad today but did manage to sneak in a bunch of zanaflex in here .

I've been on suboxone for 5 years. I started on 24mg / day and still take 12 a day now. You might want to tell your doc you need more if you feel it's not working, seems like a low dose to me for what you were taking. They do work, I haven't used in the 5 years I've been on them but now I feel like I am never going to be able to get off them. I guess it beats the alternative though...PM me if you want.

I found that back in the day the methodone was harder to kick than the heroin, but letting this get ahold of me after not shooting up for over 25yrs. I felt I needed to do something cause this asinine use has just been the past yr, before that it was just 10 a day at once & I was good but it took me almost 20 yrs to get to that point. But gonna c if this helps me cut down on my use cause it damn sure does nothing for my pain & I cant wait 3 months to get another crop harvested the way our apt complex keeps getting raided & Im the door they always want to kick open.

Bupe will block the effects of other opioids because it blocks them from binding to the mu receptor. It's probably the biggest drawback it has.

Im on 16mgs of suboxon daily20130726_080723.jpgif u cant kick ur dope habit w subs u dont wanna kick it....subs trump any other opiates...period...I have buddies who trade their subs for dope...but they dont really get hi n theyre only cheating themselves...subs will and can get u off dope...its all up to u....they WILL take away all wd's and give u energy wthin themselves...subs got me off dope and methadone.

all of its hard to kick bro....dones the worst but subs are next in line....u cant kick subs either...I cant...ur just trading one for the other...suboxons very addictive

once u start taking opiate addiction maintenance drugs such as subs or done ur fkd for life...accept it...I have...thats a whole new ball game of addiction...long term use of subs or done wreaks havoc on the mind and body...I have no idea what weve done to ourselves or what we are doing to ourselves but its no bueno....thats for sure....ive been an opiate addict fo a loooooong time now...and I live in an area where its an epidemic. ...I have buddies whove dosed down...quit cold turkey...whatever...they say it never gets beter only worse...my friend just went to jail on a 90mg a day done treatment...obviuosly the jail gave him nothing...he sd for three months he felt like he was dying in a nazi concentration camp and the wds never completely went away....when he got out he was right bk at it...just said he never did feel rite...no energy...no motivation...etc....our bodies n minds get dependent on that daily dose to get by n when it doesnt have it no likey....forever im afraid

Its a deadly game we have choosen that's for sure, & as they say once a junkie always a junkie. I guess I just need to say F it because I actually got hooked in south east asia & never really got over it & was just secretly trying to justify it by saying its from all the steel holding me together, but in all truths I just like to get high. But thanks for all the real help & advice.

Dont give up n say fk it bro...its much easier to live a productive life on somthing like suboxon...its hard to b nlrmal when ur fkn w real dope....I say u go the sub route n just ride that for a while...

Mr. Vega, I appreciate all ur knowledge on the subs, I left early Fri. & have tried it with the 8 twice a day like they sent me home on because of my insurance not wanting to pay for what I was on in there for my short few days. The 8 twice a day didn't work, but Im trying 8 three times a day now & it seems to b working out ok. I hear u when u say its one or the other, & ur completely correct. Once a tecato loco, always. But Im giving this a go & selling off all my patches & hydros just to further help... By the way I just love ur profile pic, maybe if they quit raiding our apt. complex I will get to keep mine going all the time so Im not going thru dry times.

Suboxone definitely worked for me. Ive been on it for three years . My life changed for the better as soon as I started taking it. I could deal with shit without worrying about getting sick. Didnt have to spend so much time and money on scoring.

I had been worried about coming off it though because Id heard people saying its impossible and youre hooked for life when youre on it long term (sub). Ive tapered from 12mg down to 8 over the last month and it hasnt been bad at all. Even if it gets tough on the last few steps and the final jump is hard, I think its doable. Ive been reading the subox forum and some people say its not too bad.

I had an almost painless experience coming off subs with a slow taper. I cut the dose by 1/4 every 10 days.
