I've heard that trained dogs can smell on your clothes that you grow at home, even though you don't smoke joints (I use a vaporizer) and use proper carbon filters. Is this true?

yeah but i doubt the would raid your home because you smell of weed, if you never grew you wouldnt be so paranoid, the dog smells drugs, it cant tell the owner what kind of drugs it smells only drugs, so how isit meant to tell the cops you smell of growing weed? bark twice nah chill out

Stop listening to whomever you are , the dogs can only smell drugs on the spot . You would probably wind up with a finger up your ass verses a raid if drug dogs signaled on your body ..

It's actually not the police I'm worried about at the most, but airport security and customs especially abroad.

no they can smell it trust me ............unless u wash your clothing in a oder controlling wash and use speical soap u have traces on yah from going in and out of the area and anything that has been in there
i never ride dirty anymore i cleaned out that car had it detailed ............get pulled over for a seatbelt thing since i had weed charges on my list they took a dog around and it hit like no ones biz........45 mins later after taring the car apart looking the cop saids i never had a dog hit like that and us not find anything what do u do bath in it
i smoke about a gram a day tho a bong clean shirt jacket all that the only thing new was i started growing it

u need to look into hunting detergent they use it to kil almost all smells and hunting soap /shampoo

after smoking for 21 years they should smell it in my farts ..............i been pulled over riding dirty and they did not hit/react like this dog did ..........side door has scratch marks all up and down it from it clawing ......................only thing new since the last time was the grow room

If they smell it on you and you don't have anything on you what can they do besides maybe tie u up for a min with some bs. If your that worried keep a set of clothes somewhere else for when u go to airport.

in this country they can hold u 72 hours with out charging u then letting u go after that unless they call u a terriost u have to go infront of a acting judge or commissioner and get a bail hear and formly charged with something

I live in the uk, iv seen episodes of road wars, where people get caught with small amounts, teenagers, like 19 but still an adult, anyway get caught with small amounts so the police are aloud to search their house, thats crazy, idk the law in the states but i would be mighty pissed if that happened to me, mind u the guy caight was known for selling drugs, i dont have a record with any sort of drug so im sure id make it if ever caught.

They can't search your house if they find you with pot anywhere outside your house.. Unless you were outside and ran into the house then they can follow you...
They can't even use FLIR without a warrant... (they can use FLIR and use that to start looking into you but it cant be used as a means for a warrant unless they have a warrant for the FLIR)
A judge (usually) won't sign a search warrant unless they have a valid reason to suspect illegal activity in your premises...

I read a news article this morning from my hometown about a guy that just got busted growing 22 plants. He was pulled over at 6:30 am and the cop said he smelled like weed, the cop asked if they could go to his house and search to which he replied no and they showed up shortly after with a warrant. All from a traffic stop where he smelled like weed. Didn't actually have any. It said at his home they found packaged marijauna and synthethic marijuana arrested his gf for being there and him. Charged them both with cultivation and trafficking.

Prob wasn't a signed warrant. Smell is not PC for search of a home, for a car it varies state by state but the expectation of privacy in a home is so huge that you have to have SIGNIFICANT evidence to get a judge signed warrant.
That doesn't mean the cops will not try to trick you out of your rights. This is the most common thing. Like saying "Mind if i search your car" as they open the car door. They want you to say something like "Well looks like your going to anyway". If cops come to my door I lock it behind me. If they have a warrant they can break it down if they want. Bottom line, never talk to them and never help them bust your stupid ass.

Alright, I googled around a little and found odor-removing washing powder. Thanks for that hint.
What about the apartment then. By now all my growing plants have carbon filters but I still have my clones rooting in a wardrobe, and I also have dried my weed there. What's the best way of removing the smell from places like that? And how long does it stay on the other belongings I have there, like books and DVD's?
