Just was wondering if anyone has one or knows much about them? How are they vaporizing when they apply a torch directly on to the concentrate..? Or am I missing something here?
Any worries to the borosilicate glass eventually fragmenting or anything? Leading to bits of inhaled particles?Sir dabslalot is correct about the usage of these stones, right on the money, I just wanted to step in and point a couple things out about healthstones
1. They are rebranded "carbide ceramic hot gas filters". A google search of this term will bring up several lab suppliers that will sell you a similar sized carbide ceramic stone disc of identical properties for .5-2.5 USD. Dont pay healthstone brand a greater than 1000% markup for a subpar solution.
2. Because the carbide ionizes easily in plasma (like from a flame), the hot air they filter tastes like metal and is pretty harsh. Using a "fritted glass disc", available from the same places as the carbide hot gas filters for about $5 (they are used the same way in lab settings), will prevent this and taste a lot better, esp if you are using it to dab concentrates. They are made of grains of loosely sintered borosilicate glass.
Either way, you can get really efficient vaping from herb or oil on the go, and all for a fiver or less.
